Date: Saturday 14th February 2009 Location: The Worship Nightclub. London, UK Promotions: Dynasty Promotions, All Trini Crew & Gladiators Ent Click on thumbnails to see the big picture/entire gallery Tonight we are off to get carried away with some 'Love in the City' courtesy of Dynasty PR/5.1 Edition/GSS Entertainment. This was the first Dynasty event for some of the members from the U.K. TJJ Fam, but after having known these promoters since way back when (almost 14 years), we looking forward to a night of entertainment. Now a little cupid tells us that there are 'Love Potions' available for the first 100 ladies, so we in that!!! TJJ gonna reach early and check out what Cupid have in store. Arriving at The Worship around 10.30pm, we may have been a little early as the place was only just starting to fill up ... BUT we get a love potion (or five!!) ... were we allowed more than one?? Ooops ... and we got to see the full splendour of Dynasty's Valentine's efforts. Now we must say, 10 out of 10 for efforts boys!! It's been a while since we see a venue properly decked out with the full theme - we get an array of balloons, red carpets, candy floss, chocolate dipped stawberries and marshmallows - yummm. There was even a section entitled the 'Love Zone'!! Hmmm, we love it ... guess where we headed first??!!! The Worship is a regular venue for Caribbean events in London and spans over two floors with a bar on each. The downstairs area held the dancefloor/DJs, and the upstairs was flowing with Valentine's treats. The venue was easy to get to and no lineup outside, which on a cold London night is always a plus! A neat little extra from Dynasty PR meant that being Valentine's if you were a couple and you got yourself on the list you were in for FREE!! We also noticed there was a clothing Traffic Light System in full effect:- Green - 'I'm available'; Amber/Yellow - 'I can be tempted if I think you're worth it'; Red - 'Don't even bother to waste your time' Hmmmm ... TJJ come in Black & White!! We guess that means we could do what we want, eh! Hahhaha.
With only a week to go before Trinidad Carnival, we thought tonight might be all about the soca but we were treated to some tunes from London's Hottest DJ's - Steve Clarke (Choice FM), Piper (Roots FM), as well as, GSS. We get soca, we get lovers, we get reggae, we get some funky house. TJJ couldn't resist a lil' dance with the head shoulders knees and toes!!!! Only in London!! Now we were told that a little disclaimer was in place - 'Dynasty Promotions does not accept any liability for any inappropriate behaviour from patrons of this event who choose to wear the wrong colours on the night whether on purpose or by accident!!!' HAHAHA ... so no surprise, we see people up to all sorts ... including sucking the helium from some of the love balloons!!! Yep we saw ya! And was that TJJ with a rose in their teeth??!! (see photo) It was worthwhile noticing that downstairs seemed a little like a school dance.. you know, the kind.. everybody stand up around the edges... like no one wants to step in the actual dancefloor. But it wasn't long before GSS and Piper got everyone jamming ... we were really jamming!!! And by 1.30am, you couldn't move inside the dance. Talk bout sweaty!!! Definitely their best party to date. Definitely a promotional crew to be reckoned with and have the potential to become an elite party crew ... what an event!! Dynasty, thanks for bringing us some "Love in the City". We loved the treats, the theme and the efforts ... we heard the party even encourage a little engagement!! Congrats Kevin and Michelle ... we wish you all d' best! Minutes to 3.00am, the lights came on and it was time to head home for some REAL Love in the City!! Can we steal Cupid for one more day?? Beth for the TJJ fam |
