Webster's pocket dictionary describes the term Insomnia as "the chronic
inability to sleep." Hmmmmm... so what would you call people who are choosing
not to sleep?? TRINI'S .... that's what!! The
party had a start time of 10pm and an end time of 'till.' Now you do not want
to tell ah Trini that, especially when the party is at the De Panyard! We didn't
get there till about 1am, but guess what? By the time we reach, de party already
RAM! DJs Choice
One, Touches, Tony Tempo and a host of other selectors had a ball right through
the dance. And the insomniacs, including the TJJ Crew, were all ready to go the
distance. Food (provided by Jordan's Roti Shop) was in abundance and even though
drinks were selling through the 'chit system' we ent complaining .... drinks were
flowing!! All the right attributes were present to make de party just as nice
as in 2008. However,
the rain had other plans. A few scattered showers blessed the event around 2am
or so. But just imagine, nobody move a muscle. Well except for the girls who got
their 'hair did' rhel nice ... they run inside the house fast, fast!! Now I don't
know if we ever give allyuh the layout of De Panyard ... so here goes. To get
to the gate, it's a little walk up where vines are growing on the fence that's
flanking the driveway. As you enter the gate, there's an open area before you
get to the house, not to mention the tons of people you have to pass through to
get to it. Well not exactly a good description right? Well except for the part
with the tons of people!!! As a matter of fact, that's what makes De Panyard ...
De Panyard!!! And on this night, Ibis International open it up to the people
of Atlanta and all Atlanta carnival-goers.

night went well into the morning with food and drinks in running. The insomniacs
weren't planning on leaving to go anywhere, and stayed they did. Even Benjai
and Giselle de Wasi One couldn't resist De Panyard, getting there about
6am. Giselle even linked up with the Stray Dawg Krew, (who by the way ...
as rumor would have it ... didn't miss a party for the entire weekend) for a photo
opp. With the
music toning down around 7am, partygoers slowly began to trickle out. We were
doing out best to hang in there but the sun started to rise, and that was our
signal to go. In looking back as we left, there was a group of feters that just
didn't want to leave! They wanted to go the distance!! Ibis, much love.
We looking forward to 2010. JoyJuice....
