Boy I know rehl gal getting up early EVERY Saturday to go boot camp and ting just to prepare for the festivities, which start tonight. When I say dedication... I mean dedication. Like, "No Al, I can't go out Friday, I have boot camp tomorrow morning type dedication!!" But hats off to them and their dedication to the regime ... tonight at Ignite when I hold them we'll see if the regime working in their favor. So I weaseled my way out of working late that Thursday night just to be able to get up there early, because from past experiences I know Ignite does normally bring people out in numbers. So we heading up to Club 24 for 11ish pm. Pulling up to find parking I could already tell the place pack cause parking was a little difficult (if you wanted to save some cash and not have to pay). But after a few circle rounds, two dips in the alleys, and one illegal-ish U-turn we find a decent spot. (Note: come early if you ever going club 24, not the ideal place for safe, secure parking).
The line was thick, seems like the usual Thursday night thing was happening, as well as Ignite, which didn't bother me one bit. I could party with the tenderonies. We hung outside for a few checking out the ladies as they walked pass. Lawd, this ga be a good night ... "fellas, fellas come let we go", and it was inside we headed. So as you stepped inside you could feel how the night was going to turn out already ... HOTTTT!!!! I remember walking in and saying, "Damn, like them forget to pay the AC bill this month", but again that was a minor speed bum. Is Carnival, and a little sweat nah go hurt. I have to admit that the place had some rehl beautiful people (big ups to the lady in the red dress). The atmosphere was also good and the music was on point, big ups to the DJs ... Hazzard, Private Ryan, Sprang International and Majestic on the mic. They had the vibes going from early, even though there were a few who only wanted to profile. The venue was a decent club, looked rehl nice in the dim light, lol. Getting a drink was not to difficult seeing there were 3 bars throughout the floor. The only issue was the friggin' heat. There were people dripping of sweat. You could have taken off your shirt and wring it ... that's how hot it was in there. Don't get me wrong, some females wore it very well but you know sweat doh look so sexy on everyone. But I think everyone forgot about the heat as Majestic grabbed the mic and said a little piece on the late "King of Pop", which was then followed by a quick musical tribute to the king. Everyone was up and dancing. I think I even see a moonwalk or two (not including my failed attempt), and a little thriller rendition. After that, the vibez just kept building thru the night. Partygoers were getting on bad on the people nice leather couch, all on the railings, even on the stage .... folks begging me to delete certain pictures saying (and I quote), "Boy delete that, you go get me in trouble!!" Ignite DC 2009 was definitely a good kick off to the DC Carnival weekend and a good preview of the HEAT that was to come for the parade on Georgia Ave. Even after the fete done, the food outside was good. Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for any trouble one may have gotten into, which may have been caught on camera, and were not asked to be deleted. Reppin'
