Date: Sunday 15th February 2009 Location: St. George's College. Barataria, Trinidad Promotions: St. George's College Click on thumbnails to see the big picture/entire gallery Rain, Rain .. Go Away! What a rainy day!!! It is February 15th and the rain has not stopped falling for a full 5 hours straight but that did not stop some of the faithful partygoers of the Georgian Jubilation VI. It wasn't a jam packed party but it did hold its own. The rain did give some competition and held back quite a couple people well. Now for those who were there.. wow, nothing was holding them back. There were some people who opted to shelter from the rain under the tents and then there were the others who said, what the hell I paid my money.. I am going to enjoy myself. I would say a good thirty people were in front the stage dancing and swaying to the music in the rain. Obviously there was mud everywhere. But what I liked about it, is that they did not care. They were covered in mud everywhere ... the ladies shoes, the mens pants, everywhere and everything. One guy told me in his accent voice, I left the cold to come here especially for this party, and you think that the rain is going to keep me back ... hell no!! While saying this, he was also covered in mud and wining on my leg.
Tony Prescott and Surface were on stage giving a fantastic performance warming the crowd in the cold weather. Up next the St. George's music band and their guest artiste was Richard "Chynee" Valentine (Synergy Soca Star 4) who ripped up the crowd. I tell yuh, it seems he in the business a long time... he was really good. Up next came the Roy Cape All Stars featuring Bad, bad, bad Blaxx, Trini Jacobs, Olatunji along with Black Stalin & Devon Matthews. They gave a fantastic set, performing till the end of the night, which was at 10:00 p.m. Because of the low turn out due to the rain, there was a lot of food remaining and folks were asked to take as much as they can and carry with them. Yuh know yuh girl was infront the line, every line. Much love to Charlie's ... the Hops & Oink was toppers - especially with that shadon benni sauce!! Now apparently some people liked the fact that there wasn't a massive turn out, which allowed them to enjoy themselves even more. No matter what, TJJ does enjoy ourselves, rain or shine! See you guys next year. Chippin' out the door
