Tonight is the much anticipated first fete of 2009 for Busspepper!!! After a week where the city of London practically shut down with snow, Busspepper say we meltin' snow tonight!!! Now the question is would this dreary weather stop people from venturing out in favour of a night at home? Maybe save their energies for T&T Carnival 2009? Hmmmm.

TJJ arrive around 10.30pm and taking a quick walk up towards the venue tells us ... wait .... wow!!! Snow? What snow??!! If you see this line ... $£%!& ... the queue outside was already about 100 deep!! As usual, Busspepper operates a guest list affair get your name on the list and then get there before a certain time to save the pennies folks!! Now after Cuchi La La 2008, which was hot hot hot, the pepper have plenty to live up to!! Tonight we back in The LightBox, the sexy 80s style venue that hosted the London's Tribute to Nuts back in November - with strobe lights, glitter balls, dry ice and special effects... we know we in for a treat... rumour has it tonight we gettin an extra room with more tunesssss! Vybezzzzz!

BUT WAIT NA? With all these people in the line does that mean inside empty?? Did we reach too early ... who we go take pics of ?? *lol* As we walked passed the outdoor cloakroom (interesting idea!!), and move into The Lightbox, we see the dancefloor and the bar already ram. We love it! This is going to be just what we need. We reach d stage (in fact LightBox have 2! haha) we warmin up ... throw your hands dem in d air!! With so many people already inside the party, drinks seemed to be flowing freely and at credit crunch prices. The vybezzz start. Now we remember from Tribute to Nuts event, that The Lightbox only accept cash, so we come prepared. Although, there is a cash point inside the venue if yuh ain't twisted enough and yuh money done!

Tonight was not just about Trinidad Carnival, we see flags from all over .. Bermuda, St. Lucia, Barbados, Grenada (photo) .. they all in d house tonight!! Everybody ready to start d pressure... who cyah find a man, wine on a wall (photo)!! Yes girl, we saw you ... GET ON!! Who want to hide from their man... hmmm.. no problem. .... there was so much smoke in the venue that we even get a foggy lens on the camera. Fog in the air, we in a gear, leggo d nitrogen!!! Rah Rah!!! Now working this crowd was a real art as within minutes the long *!£%!? line from outside on the inside and everybody like they walk in and start to jam one time. Yuh bold and yuh brave inside the rave ..... it's a rave (run d track "Ravin")!! What the ravers say??

Who could forget the Busspepper Kings??!! Well they back and we love them - Gladiators, Mr Marvel and DJ Markee - AND straight from Trinidad & Tobago we get Kern from High Fidelity/Less than Zero, here to give us the tunes straight out of Trini for Carnival 09. So we get 90% Soca, both from years gone and the 2009 tunes ... and we love it!! We pushing bumper!!! But we like that they still mix it up.. swap the DJs between both rooms.. throw in some Hip Hop.. throw in some Dub. Now we must say when Kern start a lil Dub session at about 3am ...... hmm, he start with the "Dutty Wine". He gave us the "Lu Lu Lu" and a "Hot Wuk" ... one so hot that shoes start to come off and the barefoot jamming began!!!! High Fidelity/Less than Zero set was sooooo sweet we see a certain committee member sneak into the DJ box with her coat on, tuh teef a wine (photo)!!

For all the vybezz, and our small taste of Carnival 2009 to come, the venue was a little overcrowded. Now we feting for days, but we sweatin inside the rave!!! We work hard to get the drinks to the crew.. over the head was the only route. But upstairs Hassan and De Four caterers gave us that sweet taste of the Caribbean that we love and have come to expect with a lil zen away from the jamishness ... and yet another bar and some place to chill ... if only for a moment.

Now we go finish by saying..... we know Busspepper would not be Busspepper without us catching someone snogging!! But hmmm.... what is this?? Two ladies .... excitement (photo)!!! Mateen and d crew you never cease to amaze us. And by d way, we forget to say the handbag was a good look for you! Darling (photo)!!!

At 4am... sweaty, feet hurting but waist still moving... we out. Until next time ravers, we loved raving with d Pepper!! We feting for days .... don't stand up and gaze!! Now let's see if we can sneak more of Hassan's food before the rush ... yumm!
