Trini Carnival is de bess! And every year we see people crying and bawling when we leaving. This year is the 14th Annual DCAL, brought to you by Dr. Jay and Emerald Vacations and we telling allyuh again DOH CRY but WE LEAVING!!!!!!!
The TJJ crew arrived early to catch a nice pre-lime in the parking lot, (“once we got drinks in we thermos, nothing cyah stop us!”) -lol- and by 11pm, we were inside the Kool Haus. By 11:30pm, the venue was almost to capacity with PLENTY GYALS and guys. The whole KOS family was on the inside decked in their shorts, t-shirts and straw hats letting us know they READY for Trinidad. Everybody in the party was ready for some real BACCHANAL listening to the sweet sounds of Soca Sweetness and Dirty Dez in de earlier rounds. When marXman, Dr. Jay & E-Man took over all crews were reppin’ and getting on; some people sayin’ "I’M NOT DRUNK" and others sayin’ they DRUNK AGAIN. When Dr. Jay called out the crowd askin’ who ready for TNT Carnival, it was two hands in the air from everyone! It lookin’ like rel people making it this rounds pappa!! (I thought there was ah recession??)
With all the crazy vibes inside of Kool Haus, the "OBSESSIVE WINERS" were more than ready for the two artists to perform their hit songs. Toronto based Slammer Cutter really got the crowd going singing a crowd favourite "MASH UP", and blessing us with the new big chune "HANGOVER"!!! Peter Ram came on callin’ out to de ladies whose white pants were "TIGHT" and the crowd kept chanting for "WE LIKE IT" (Iwer & Ziggy's tune on the same riddim)!!!
If anyone was unsure
of how everybody was feeling inside of Kool Haus, we knew fuh sure that
they were "TUSTY"
fuh more.. cause when Dr. Jay called out, “I don’t know
about you...” the crowd screamed back, “I come out to get on
BAD BAD BAD!” Wheyyyy! They were READY LIKE FREDDY! -lol- Everybody
was jumpin’ like they were ready to cross de stage on Carnival Monday.
All those booked for Trinidad were feelin’ the Caribbean warmth inside
of Kool Haus ah tell yuh! This fete was definitely one to remember, the
vibes were wicked and at 4:00am people were still jammin’ and singing
Kerwin Dubois’ hit song "CYAH
PUT ME OUT" as security attempted to clear the venue. Nice
try fellas!! The 14th Annual Doh Cry Ah Leavin fete certainly left some people in tears wishing they were going to sweet, sweet TNT and others really anticipating their upcoming flights. When the night finally came to an end and everybody was "SLIPPIN’ AWAY" from the dance floor, we knew de Toronto massive was "READY" to represent in Trindad for 2k9.
Thanks to the KOS family for preparing those of us going for Carnival 2KWine. We definitely needed that pre-carnival jump up. Until we meet up again in Toronto for Return Fete is THUNDER in Trinidad!
