Date: Saturday 21st March 2009 Location: Agenda, Minster Court. London, UK Promotions: Busspepper Promotions Click on thumbnails to see the big picture/entire gallery Just what the Doctor ordered! After a thrilling, seductive and encaptivating Trinidad Carnival 2009 (view coverage) - TJJ UK always has the tabanca - even members of the crew who did not make it for for the season's festivities back in Trinidad - we sure as hell had a tabanca! Busspepper Promotions had the prescription for our pain & torture with their annual Carnival Tabanca event, and this year's edition promised to deliver the ideal cure. Agenda is the ideal location for this event with ultimate bar service and a spacious dancefloor, so we could definitely gyrate, socialize and get down & dirty as the cure worked itself and destroyed our pain. By the time we arrived, DJ Markee was on the one's and two's playing all the soca hits and the sexy body tunes for the sexy body people to dance up and prance up ... haha. Let's put it this way ... gyrate yuh batty, wine up on a man leg ... wine up on a woman leg ... hold on to a speaker ... 'jamish-tabanca-ness' (new word)! Kern from Hi Fidelity/Less Than Zero was in the house running the tunes and having a time while ensuring patrons enjoyed themselves to their highest possible potential.
This event is one of the most highly anticipated events thrown by Busspepper. The event is so anticipated that the queues are massive and people's names are always on the guestlist weeks before. Funny enough, there are always some folks who never put their names on the list but always surely arrive last minute to shake their batty, catch up with old friends or even just to leave their house. Birthday celebrations are always a must at Busspepper events, and this one showed almost three people celebrating some sort of birthday anniversary - Happy 'Drop Day' Birthday guys! Full House - with three aces & two kings, not even a Royal Flush could have shown its face in this party as it was crowded to it's highest in Agenda. Kern & Markee had the excitement levels up and never diminishing, running all the 2009 soca hits, some hip-hop, dancehall and even the one time shocker - a few techno joints in the mix! Giggidy!!!!! "My Dream Is To Fly, Over The Rainbow, So High ...." GIGGIDY!!! The bang-o-rang and the skettel-bang always have patrons hungry for a belly filling, and the Rasta Chef from London Town always supplies the goods at Busspepper events. Women ... we know some of you love to cook ... we recommend getting a cook book from Hasan to make some of that good Caribbean home cook food for yuh husband dem ... bang bang!! Just kidding ... go buy him some KFC yes and say, "Eat Dat!" Nevertheless, Hasan always has our mouths watering and we always leave with a belly full. With the party going till 4:00 AM, some partygoers weren't ready to go to the finish line, leaving more space on the dance floor for us die hard feters to get on bad and wassy. And trust us, everyone who stayed until the last tune, sure as white on rice got on bad and wassy!! When it was all said and done, we were tired and exhausted, but were completely amused and entertained. Folks, take note - 1. Busspepper always
provides the perfect cure for Trinidad Carnival Tabanca; Amiel ==================================== |
