this rainy Friday night, Team TJJ NY geared up to head on a Massive Productions
and Rehab Boys boatride - Callaloo On D' Water. Yes, a boatride! We wouldn't
take offense if people started calling us sailors. Making
it on the boat just in time, the vibes seemed mediocre upon arrival, but it quickly
started to pick up some energy with complimentary jello shots. Who doesn't love
some JELLO? After
a minor delay the boat set sail. It was really 'Callaloo on the Water' as the
selections from the DJ were outstanding. The first DJ, I Testament did
his thing and literally warmed things up with the help of the boat crew on this
chilly morning. They had to give us a bligh by closing the windows because the
music and alcohol didn't quite kick in as yet. I
made my way around the Sheryll Princess doing my thing and eventually ended up
downstairs where some people thought they were in restaurant heaven. The food
was besssss and dey lucky is work I come to work, or else I would not have moved!!
Large up to the cook! When I returned upstairs, Natural Freaks took over.
Well yuh know how the Freaks does do it different? They moved the crowd with some
sing along old school tunes that sent people in a frenzy. After that Callaloo
with Crab, the Pelau and the Bar-B-Que Chicken, this is all that was needed for
people to rock the boat like never before.

| An
occasional approval of the big chunes were met with a banging on the roof of the
boat, which reminded me a lot of Sean Paul's video .... "No banging on
d furnace!" The music never came off the top level after Freaks
were done. The other DJ, Massive Productions, had big shoes to fill, and
did so with authority. On our way back in, everyone was doing the two step to
70's and 80's disco music, which once again was met with the banging of the roof
for approval. The ride deserved its name ... "Callaloo On D' Water"
because of the numerous blends of opposites that fitted so well and moved in unison
to create the atmosphere and vibes that was there! Thumbs
up once again to the cook and the marvelous job they did with the food, all the
dj's that rocked the boat with chune after chune, and the promoters for pulling
off another great event for the party lovers. Primo
