Hey honey bunches of oats! Burrrrrr it’s another blistering cold day here in the big apple. We're actually in the middle of a snow storm and team bundled up and headed to Queens for the 5th Annual Blazer Affair at De River Night Club.

To go out in that weather was madness eh? The snow eventually stopped but then it started to pour down rain. Oh well, the show must go on. It took us longer than usual to get there of course, we had to be careful on the road. As we pulled up to the venue we saw people running from all different directions trying to hurry up an get inside. As I got closer to the venue and I saw that long line, I didn't know what to do with myself. Thank goodness there was a special entrance for media and DJ’s. I was relieved instantly. smile

Finally on the inside, we were warming up and I had to take a shot of strong rum by de bar. Lord knows I needed it! Supposedly there were supposed to have two rooms; a Reggae room and a Soca room. By the way, the DJ line up was insane. I mean almost everybody was scheduled to play from Mr. Cee, Bobby Konders and Jabbba of Hot 97FM to Steelie Bashment, Elegance Sounds and Pantrin Vibes to name a few. Anyhow where was I, oh the rooms. So I decided to head upstairs and see waz de scene. To my surprise, the Reggae room, well let's just say ...... crickets. I mean serious! Poor DJ was playing for himself. Hard luck, yes! I headed back to where the action is. Soca taking over oui, cause the Soca room was ram jam! Jabba came downstairs on the mic an said that he refuses to play for nobody, so then the Soca room turned into the "everything" room.

While I was bussin' a small wine and taking a lil' chip, I bounce up wit Soca artiste Skinny Fabulous. I'm like a a waz the scene? Lol! Right behind him I see Lyrical and Problem Child liming on stage. Showtime was up soon, so I stayed in that area so I wouldn't miss a second of the performances.

In about an hour or so it began with Lyrikal up first, and boy I had to take a serious wine for meh song, "All Over De Gyal". It's officially on of my favorite chunes for the year so far! Lyrikal's segment was short and sweet. Next up was Fata and finally, the big man is on himself. If yuh see madness when Skinny Fabulous sang his 2008 Vincy Road March "Head Bad". I was cracking up at some of the wildness in the front. They were all backed by Kerry the drummer.

The party wasn't bad man, and honestly I coulda swear it would've buss due to the inclement weather. The music was nice, the vibe was there, and most importantly ... the gwalas had behavior! Good job Peng .. if God spare life, TJJ will definitely be in the 6th!

Text-a-holic Juice,
Taking a quick shot before I head back in the cold!
