“Back to Blanchisseuse”

Taking this fete to a venue that truly brings out the essence and meaning of the party’s name, the festivities were once again going to occur up on the north coast road way, way past Maracas beach all the way up in Blanchisseuse. TJJ being no stranger to Beach House events (see TJJtv Beach House Carnival'09 coverage), was even up in the mix the last time 21 Promotions hosted Winter Wonderland back in 2005 at this same pristine location. Talk bout memories!!

Well the fete was carded to run from 2-8 PM, and we felt it would be in good timing to get up there around the likes of four-ish. So we packed up, made the necessary calls to the other TJJ reps to rendezvous, and then we began our journey. Approaching the lookout on the North Coast road is where the problems began. From free flowing traffic straight into bumper to bumper traffic ... cud ya believe??!!

After toiling in the conga line of cars for over one hour, we reached our location at twenty minutes before 6 PM. There was still a strong burst of sunshine present complimented by a spectacular and scenic ambiance, which soon helped to quell our traveling frustrations. Hitting the bar did the trick of taking care of any other bothersome concerns!!

Armed with drink in one hand (and camera in the other), we were now on the fashion prowl. From sexy to classy, casual to bikini and everything in between, there was definitely a wide assortment of trendy outfits present. In our endeavors we came across many familiar faces, while enjoying many back in times chunes ... chunes which have only been know to be heard in a Beach House dance! The DJs were unquestionably in touch with their fans musical taste, and the faces of most patrons reflected nothing but this.

The sun soon set, and any concerns about the party ending at eight o’clock were quickly dismissed when the promoters announced that the fete was now going to go till 10 PM instead. In some people’s mind, it was like de party now start!! Also, by this time, most patrons’ spirits were already in party gear and this revelation only created an extra stir of excitement, causing folks to truly unwind (and for some to “really go down low”).

The vibes pretty much played off like this for the rest of the night, and as it got later and later, people gradually filtered out in small numbers. Soon it was our turn to depart as well, so we caught the shuttle back to the Car Park area. The maxi ride back was real kicks. With nuff alcohol in man head, it was level jones and ole talk going on, almost to the point that we thought we were in a soap opera, yes!!
