We starting off Carnival 2k8 with UNI Fete promoted by one of Miami's finest promoters, Generation X.
Ah reach the venue early for a change, and the line getting in ran smoothly. Tonight all college students came out in their numbers to support their school's. There were students from University of Miami (UM), Florida International University (F.I.U), Barry University and St. Thomas University to mention ah few ... all ready to fete!
Party-go'ers of all ethnic backgrounds were jumping and waving to the sweet sounds of soca. Its nice to see that no matter way yuh come from, when it comes to soca music everyone does free up and wuk it. There was a $500 cash prize given to the Caribbean Students Association (CSA) that sold the most tickets and a $200 cash prize for the best outfit representing your island. Allyuh dun know how Gen X very generous with dey prizes!!
DJs Private Ryan, Sound Rev and Eternal Vibes were holding down the vibes and playing all the latest soca releases like Blaxx's "Breathless", Patrice Robert's "Mo Wuk" and Farmer Nappy ft. Anthony B's "Chippin' Remix". When ah tell yuh, the crowd was out of control. The spectacular Sybil’s restaurant catered the food and at the bar, the drinks were flowing in abundance.
Well this was my truly my warm session, because next week I'll be joining the Fetealotathon® in sweet TnT. Eyes Wide Shut here I come.... ah bringin' it in ah bottle!!
