It's the Monday after Mother's Day... holiday right? St. Lucian have a beautiful coastline and I've heard so much about boating, sailing and yachting on the island's water. Jazz done, so what to do? The question is really, "What boat to board?" Justin aka The Big Show (TBS) is on point yet again folks! Friends of TBS, Darren and Mark James, were hosting an intimate and private cruise for their close frens and fam ... so dat was the lick for the day. We reach Vigie Marina just in time, not too long after the DJ slide on and we were off. I believe that it was Earnest Hemingway that said that he feels sorry for people that don't drink! The reason being that when they wake up, that is as good as they are going to feel all day. Well, no statement or rationalization could be couldn't be more truer (if dat is ah word ... lol), because when that catamaran docked at whatever time it was in de night, I was feeling real good! As the sweet sounds of soca and reggae played, we sailed the length of the island's western coast, southward to the majestic view of the Gros Piton along with its twin peak Petit Piton. Have you ever heard about the Ladera Resort (www.ladera.com) that has an open wall on one side that brings the outdoors -- and the close-up view of the Pitons -- right inside? It's also a favorite with guests such as Oprah Winfrey. We caught a glimse from the distance, and wow ... we just might have to make reservations next rounds. Ah wonder if Wados can let go of the Friendship Inn??!! Hehe. We docked for lunch at the historic town of Soufrière on the Southwest coast, and it wasn't long before the local village kids made their way to the boat to see what the tourists had to offer. The boat was laden with varieties of foods and beverages like a Caribbean Style Roman banquet. Fruits, Meats, Veggies and even brownies!! I doh like to eat too much while consuming alcoholic beverages, but it was too much to resist!! On the way back we made a few stops, a beach (Anse Cochon) and several bays where the setting sun could not have created more dazzling reflections or scenic silhouettes. We sang, danced, drank, ate and before I knew it they were dragging me off the boat. Slowing peeling back each finger from the stern, they got me off... but I'll be back!! Still
