After a good nights rest (yes! I said a good night rest) ... first time in the history of Carnivals where we got 10 hours of sleep straight thru - doh ask! Anyway, we feeling well rested and ready to fete again. We hear Back to Basics teamed up with East Coast Caribbean Events bringing Shine to DC Carnival. We've been to Shine NY, Shine MIA and Shine ATL so we know what to expect - a real FETE session!!!

We got to the Gallery around midday and it was ram, I tell yuh, there where people everywhere! B2B was killing it on the 1s and 2s. There was so much hype in this fete and everyone were loosing their minds. It was like people left their good behavior at home and decided any and everything goes in this fete, yes! Pure madness ... we see legs and bamsies flying in every which way and fellas jamming on one, two or more!! No problem-o, we accustom to dat!! *lol* But as much as we didn't want to leave the action on this floor, we had to explore the venue. So we went upstairs where they had a bunch of fellas watching the Euro Cup (Germany vs Spain). And outside had a bar and patio furniture set up for people who wanted to take a break from the craziness downstairs. The weather was beautiful so we lime outside for a bit, and then it was straight back downstairs to the madness.

At this point, Natural Freaks was murdering de scene with chunes. I have to give it up to the DJs, they had this fete on lock. I mean it was chune after chune after chune ... whole afternoon. And de mixes, whaaaaay .... I CYAR TAKE IT! Back to Basics got on the mic asking for the conga line to start. Well it was none other than one of our very own TJJ members who took the lead and started de longest conga line ever. This conga line run right through the entire party!

B2B grabbed the mic again and said he got news for us ... ok we listening. He said, “The partying going 'till 7PM!!" 3 WHOLE HOURS past the scheduled end time!!!!! OH THE JOY! Natural Freaks then put on Black Stalin's 1991 hit tune, “Black Man Feeling To Party", the rhythm section followed and the crowd went wild!!! Boy, it was hot as hell's breath in de place, our TJJ Fete-O-meter reading rel high ... but nobody studying dat, everyone too busy throwing waist!!! Ah tell yuh, de fete was so hype that my fellow TJJ photographer and I had to put down our cameras and join in on the fun - sorry Boss Juice, we couldn't help ourselves!!

So it's now almost 7PM, security harassing B2B to shut down de party, and surprise surprise, no one wants to leave. But you know all good things must come to an end!! Everyone was lingering outside hoping the music would miraculously come back on. No such luck though ... so on to the next fete, the Annual DC Carnival Cool Down Pool Party.

Ricardo and Mike, thanks for having us. TJJ TV coverage will be releasing soon. As you could tell, we had a BLAST! Big up to all de DJs dat made de dance nice ... Natural Freaks, Dr. Wax (NY), Andy Mix (DC), Sounds 4 Life (NY) & Eternal Vibes (MIA) & off course B2B (NY). We definitely there next year!

But why my inner thigh hurting meh so????
