It's Labor Day Weekend in South Florida … the end of summer, back to school around the corner and time to party just before the new school semester begins for many. What better place to be than at a Red Carpet Affair? Tonight, MMS Productions hosted the Official Launch party for "Relics of Antiquity", the new clothing line venture from Rohan Marley, the former University of Miami football star and the son of the late great Bob Marley, and former NFL star Lavar Arrington (check out www.tuffgongclothing.com/tgc.html).

The event was held at Spirits Night Club located at the Seminole Hard Rock Café complex, which is a prime location for some of Miami's hottest nightlife. Doors opened at 11pm, so we figured to make an early entrance … hey, 11:30pm is early by Miami party standards! The launch party was slated to be a Red Carpet Affair and so, in front of Spirits nightclub, the red carpet was rolled out and the entry way set for all the VIP's. Of course, TJJ was right up there in the mix in full force - photographers and TJJ TV camera crew, please report to the RED carpet! After all, who does paparazzi better than Jungle Juice? smile

In attendance were some of the many members of the Marley family - Damien, Stephen, Julian, & Ky-Mani - who were all out in support of the launch of Rohan and Lavar's new clothing line. The atmosphere was definitely "premier worthy", with the "beautiful people" dressed to impress. The sweet sounds of Reggae and Dancehall music were echoing throughout the multiple rooms of Spirits by an all-star lineup of DJ's, including the legendary Kid Capri, Miami's DJ Irie, Renaissance Disco, Black Chiney and Mix Master Steve. With this line-up, you better believe that the music was on point all night long.

Around 3am the fashion show kicked off debuting the new "Relics of Antiquity" line. Former America's Next Top Model contestant, Stacy Fequiere, was the first model on the catwalk. The line suggested a more cultural vibe exploring the ornate concepts of revenge and salvation through its religious themed designs. Rohan expressed his dedication to fashion, and how he created the clothing line within the cultural and social influences over time. The audience was teased with a unique display of both men and women's clothing, including some hoodies, detailed shirts, off the shoulder tops and elaborate skirts and responded positively to the designs, showing their appreciation for what was only a small glimpse of more to come.

Overall, the launch party was a big hit and TJJ was pleased to be a part of it. Much props to Rohan Marley for what looks to be yet another successful venture for the Marley clan.

Signing out,
