Amsterdam, the last stop on a hectic tour for Pressure, and all reggae heads making a serious move to the Melkweg, the place to be on this historical night. What could we expect from this amazingly talented, big lyrics singer on his first visit to the orange country? Having experienced Pressure live before, I for one was expecting a mad night and was ready to do my part to get the massive in gear to be treated to a night of great reggae music. On this night I roll with my Sound, Herbalize-it, the Champion Sound outta Holland (www.myspace.com/herbalizeit). We were blessed with doing the warm up and after party, so yuh know what time it is! We in front the venue and the line long, long. People looking worried cause a man by the front entrance just shout out that tickets sell out. Sourness! And to make things worse, it start raining! All of a sudden, people I never see in my life offering to help carry my cd case. What a ting? After a lil' thug-o-war to get back my cd case , we inside and de place ram! Everybody who is somebody on the reggae/dancehall scene in Amsterdam was present, including Ziggi, me doops and Holland's pride and joy. So we hail up who needed to be hailed, organize with a lil' cutey for a whisky cola wet throat and we ready! Enjoying the vibes, feeling the anticipation. The warm up going sweet when them tell me last tune before Pressure take over. Him deya! The strumming of a guitar riding the riddim and everybody done know. "Be Free", and the place explode! Pull Up Selector! The man in the building and even though here was a performer probably tired from nights of back to back gigs, his voice was still mad! A real singer ah this me tell yuh. The massive was so into every tune and you could see that Pressure got even more inspiration and energy from this. Sometimes you got the feeling that he couldn't believe the enthusiasm and love he was getting from the crowd. A beautiful thing fi real! Obviously Pressure dropped some new tunes and obviously only soundboys like myself really appreciated the new tings, but the crowd stayed with him cause they knew this man had more big tunes to drop.Tune after tune, a few wicked accapellas and the massive feeling irie. "Love and Affection" done the place! I know last summer this tune was mashin' up every dance in the Caribbean and States side, but right now it one of the biggest tunes over here, especially with the ladies of course. Yuh could run "Love and Affection" all night on repeat and the gyal dem happy, happy, happy! There were some young girls in front the stage singing de ting word for word! Pressure mus have pulled up the tune about 5 or 6 times, coulda even be more ... it was real mad!!! After his first initial goodbye to the massive, it took all but 10 seconds before he re-appeared to give the screaming crowd a bit more of the 'Pressure Buss Pipe' magic. A super performance by an artist I rate to the fullest! A good stage show, great crowd interaction and awareness. It was a night to remember in Amsterdam. After Pressure was done, we partied until the wee-hours of the morning. Once again TJJ was deya to witness history ... Pressure's first performance in Holland! The summer looking good so far, warming up nicely and we're gonna be there squeezing out exclusive coverage in the mighty Jungle Juice name! Bless Up! Daryl aka
