What a day TJJ friends and fam were having! First of all, Our weekend starts on a Thursday and this always throw everyone off by Sunday. Lol! After Silent Morning big bram boatride, the plan was be fabulous at one of THE fetes of the summer .. Mugfest, of course! Mind you we were a lil' slow but we made it, arriving around 8:30pm.

En route, we heard all kinds of rumors regarding what we missed thus far. Could you imagine paying an admission of $100 to get into a fete that is not an All-Inclusive? Or how about hearing that the gate broke down and nuff people storm de fete! Or even worse ... someone tried to run folks over with a van to get in! We heard it all! All this allegedly before we arrived! Wowza!

Well parking was definitely a pain in de arse to the 10th power!!! Hey, it is Brooklyn! We wrangled up a spot a mile an ah half away and made our way to the venue.

Drama when we get there. People were just all over the place. While there were clearly marked queues for mug holders and non mug holders, everyone seemed to be scrambling for mugs, through windows on the side of the building. Getting inside was a disorganized and confusing, especially if you had no ticket in advance AND no mug.

So it turns out that there was a bit of a gate scuffle where one of our girls got a little roughed up (she’s ok, we rub some scotch on de bruise and all is well! ) And oh yes, and folks were forking out the $100! Yowza!!

So bam we on the inside after about 30 mins or so trying to figure out how to get in and acquire mugs. Hmmm ... how many Trini's does it take to get into Mugfest smoothly? LOL!!! However do not let that deter you from going next year because Rango Promotions consistently improve their events.

Ok now, lemme break it down. The fete was RAM CRAM JAM!!!!! That’s it, END OF REVIEW!!!

Ok, I am still here ... heehee. Seriously, for a minute I thought I was in Trinidad! People fuh so! Everyone looked like they had already marinated for hours in scotch and sun and was having a blast. It was like 2000 happy drunks! Wining straight and of course drinking straight! There was not an empty mug in the fete! Mini mugs and Maxi mugs all topped off with you name it! One young lady obviously had waaayyy too much because she was being carried out! Tsk, tsk, tsk! Since I am on the topic of drinks; the bar was BANANAS!!! From afar it looked as though folks were climbing on top of each other! Oh and ... no mug ... no drink! One good thing was that the chit system was implemented. I’m sure lots of folks were left with chits in a pocket or purse but you have to admit that it works. $7 for some scotch straight!!!

Did I mention the food? Lawd! Bake and shark, BBQ, Corn soup just to name a few items on the various menus! The aroma was heavenly!

All the while the DJ’s were mashing it up ... fine fine fine! There was a session with Natural Freaks ... humph! Reggae to rinse out yuh ears good and proper! I mean, hol yuh head and bawl almost! Wheeeeyyy!!! As a matter of fact, all of BK’s finest on the wheels of steel were front and center just bussin chunes! The biggest surprise of the night was a quick performance from “The Boss” Iwer George!!! Just imagine ... .show me yuh han annanananananananan! Lol! Iwer, yes man!

After Iwer shook up the crowd, the bar was double RAM! There was a rumor floating around that they were out of scotch! OUT OF SCOTCH! Pressha now self! What are we supposed to do with our left over chits ... drink water?! Now you know folks don’t come out to drink water! Lol! Well I started to look for cover one time because I swear folks were about to riot! Not so at all, instead some left, some switched to rum (recipe for a serious head banger the next morning or worse), beer was the next choice and some did actually drink frickin water!!! LOL!!! The rest continued to party, some random fight bruck out and two minutes after that ... PARTY DONE! Babylon shut it down. I clocked it at 11:18pm and it was to go until midnight. Hey, from the looks of things folks did not want to go home! I hear that all around 2am people still in de fete with no music just limin hard!

What a night! Well I hear that the latest update is at least all ticket holders who weren't able to gain entrance your tickets will be honored at the next Mugfest. If you were stuck with drink chits like we were, as long as you still have them you will be offered two complimentary drinks at the next Rango Promotions event. Not sure how that one will play out though. What if you have $100 in chits left???

We have to thank Rango Promotions. In spite of all the drama TJJ friends and family had a time! See you soon!
