Hey Honey bunches of Oats! Well boy, what a long day we had. Some serious party hopping was taking place today. Our final destination was at Itchi Baba's 20 Anniversary fete which took place at the Volume II Mas Camp in Brooklyn. Even though I live about five minutes from the venue, I've actually never been there. Parking wasnt too bad, and we were happy because it's a little after nine and the TJJ crew now rolling in. We had absolutely no time to gape ... it was straight to work one time. Now the first hour was a bit stressful. I swear the first 100 people didn't want their photo taken! I was like what the foosa? Normally they love to pose, but according to my homie, everybody walk with they horner woman (aka de mistress) in the fete!!! *lol* Meanwhile the fete was still pumping and the music was sweet!! All kinda chune flinging while the sexy models of "Army of Peace"; a section in Hawks Intl showcased their costumes. The vibes was definitely on point. I made my way to my favorite place - the bar - and went to my second favorite place right after - the food station. You know we have to support them!! Bird's corn soup.... yummy! I decided to head back out. Now I told myself that maybe if the people drank a little more we might get a bligh this time and they would pose for a few snaps, and believe it or not the same people that said no earlier were cheezing rhell hard the second time around. Maybe it was because the DJs were ripping it on the wheeles of steel??!! It was an All Star line up! When we arrived, Teddy Mohammed was playing some wicked old school dub. And when I say wicked, I mean wicked. Maxi dub wicked! Foreign Bass had the soca vibes on lock. They mixed it up a bit with some old and new songs, but when it comes to back in time soca, GB God Bless takes the crown! He had everyone feeling to party. I haven't heard most of these songs in ages now, chunes like "Lorriane", "Tonight the black man feeling to party" and "Tiny Winey". As I chipped through the crowd, I noticed a posse rhel jammin' and havin' a time! Would you believe that as soon as I decided to settle into a lil' wine there was an announcement that the last song was about to play. I know I'm in Brooklyn and a fete never ends the time they say it will, but unfortunately this one did. Right on time too! Well it just taught us a lesson ... next time Party People Promotions decides to throw a bram, TJJ will open the party! It was fabulous for the two hours spent. Big ups to Felix and the whole PPP crew for the invite! You catch meh wining low, so you know I had a blast! Ayana for the TJJ fam |
