I really feel people in this District of Columbia and surrounding environs ent realize yet that 2am party does done? Folks, IT'S THE LAW! and not a promoter's way of playing iron panty. Or is it maybe that allya people out there just like me functioning on Caribbean time. Does over sleep, miss drop, have no water in de line to bade (and have to full Skip bucket) or have to wait on people that have all of de before mentioned impediments? Early in the week TJJ's Weekly Jungle Guide Book signaled the arrival of Howard's Homecoming Weekend. Plenty good lime. De boss send me ah e-mail from HQ saying (and I quote) ... "Big Event!!" So about 1am (hahahaa) TJJ walk in z dance. Today is training day 2 for TJJ new spicy but not saucy, representative Alicia (I was never much of a role model, but do as I say, not as I do ... right?). "Alicia come to de party early to get a good feel," I say. But tonight's warm up will be watching me. We try to linger by the door to capture hot shots of all those ladies that I observed in the line, but Back to Basics was dun'in de place with a ram jam soca set... so this Soca Junkie had to make a move. It's "Dead or Alive" ... "pandng .. ping ping .. ta-da ting .... hey hey hey ... heeey" and people jumping to de "Expose" sample. But de time flying and we now rounding by de bar. Party pack out by now and jumping, no seriously... people was jumping! Before people could settle down from de excitement and get their last call for booze, Copper Shot was on de set with all de latest Dancehall ... Real Gangsta for life ... plenty Mavado, Munga and of course, 2007 September's special from Erupt ... "Click Mi Finger." It was clear that this was a reggae loving audience, so when Hypa Hoppa of Radioactive hit the stage, solo mind you ... it was a full Bob Marley set that pressed people to sing bout 3 little birds and much vibes and redemption. Ah love it! Hoppie had it locked down with much reggae followed up with some Top 20 hip hop ... everybody want to "Live your life .... heeaaayyyy." Unfortunately
I had a train to catch so TJJ buss de tape, but never before we get everything!
