Hey Honey bunches of Oats!!

It's been weeks now since everybody in the Big Apple been talking bout Gyal Farm coming to NY, and after much anticipation the wait is over! Yuh done know the ladies of TJJ NY rounded up their daisy dukes and boots and headed to the farm. Well not straight nah, because there were a lot of delays on our way up de road. Well not really delays ... basically, we were lost!

We drove around in circles and after about half an hour we became a tad frustrated so we decided to run de chune "Gyal Farm", so our vibes didn't die completely. We were literally two seconds away from going crazy!! Like de chune worked oui, because in the blink of an eye we spotted some cowboy hats and reveled in the fact that we finally found the venue. As expected, there was a long line outside. After all, it was a Back to Basics Ent production!

On the inside now and ah swear we were actually on a farm. A scarecrow greeted us upon entry!!! They went all out with the decorations and props. We weren't even there for two seconds and already we were feeling the vibe. We were almost run over by farmer Crakers, wheeling bales of hay through the crowd! Yes ... hay ... as in feed cows hay!! *lol* Big ups to Crakers. With no time to waste, we start to wuk one time. We must mention that this is the first party where almost everybody followed the theme. Very impressive! Folks were in their cowboy hats, paisley scarves, overalls, daisy dukes and plaid attire. The atmosphere in this fete was easy and fun. Everybody with drinks in hand, some jammin' on bales of hay and some even rolling in the hay, while some completely avoided the hay at all costs! *lol*

As you know with a good fete comes great music selections and there was an all star line up of NYC's hottest DJ's. Dr. Wax, GB God Bless, Foreign Bass, Fatal Angles and Natural Freaks all took turns making the farmers wuk and wine! Not to mention the Rhythm Section. Nothing could be better than some nice iron beating, yes!

One of the highlights of the evening was the Mechanical Bull! Yes folks, we stepped into an episode of 'Hee Haw' or something! *lol* When we first heard about the bull in the fete, kill we dead nobody riding dat ... yah right! If yuh see dem gyal an dem line up.... line dem up! Apparently, the bull was a hot number! Gyal for days riding that poor bull! Mind you they were falling off and going right back for more! *lol* After a few laughs about the bull, the action continued with Moko Jumbies storming through the fete and rhell wining down low! Big up the Moko Jumbies!

Stage-side we ran into Grenadian Soca artiste Berbice, who just came through to show some love. Dahved Levy (107.5 WBLS) was the host with the most. Time for the live performances. First up was Kerwin Du Bois. He did his thing and had the ladies screaming! Shal Marshall came right behind him and it was a wrap after that. Of course, when the first few now infamous bars of "Gyal Farm" blared out of the speakers it was bear madness!!!!! Hay was flying everywhere!!! Gyals were lining up accordingly on stage, side stage, front stage! THE CROWD WENT MAD! We spotted a lasso in the air , then around some poor girl's waist! Whoo Hooo!!! Before the momentum could die down, Zan (of the HD camp) just burst onto the stage like a superstar!!! Zan who's your stylist? Dam he looked fly!!! "Out On De Road" just mash up de place! We got flash backs of TRIBE and ISLANDpeople Mas in an instant!! The performances didn't last too long but it was nice n sweet still.

After the performances, GB was playin' some wicked oldies, but definitely goodies. It was everything we expected and more. All in all, TJJ NY had a ball on the farm!!! First time on a farm and no mosquitoes!!! smile Back to Basics, congratulations on yet another successful event. Yuh done know we have nuff love for u ... hehe! Stay tuned for TJJ TV coverage.
