X ... Carnival
Last Lap
Day 6 of the Miami Carnival 2008 Fetealotathon® ... I cant believe it's Last Lap already. Miami Carnival has finally come to an end. What the jail is this? Oh lawd, some of my fellow Jungle Juicers have already left the Sunshine State ... miss u guys!!! Good times!!! Well its up to the TJJ Red Team to complete the Fete-a-lot-athon®. Now I must admit, de fete after fete ting finally catch up with me ... but I dont want this wining season to end. So you know what that means? Time to go to the gym and get my adrenaline to kick in. At about 1 in de morning, ah reach de fete, ready and energized to bring the South Florida Carnival season to ah end. On the way to Bayside Hut, the road was clear (well, it was a Monday night), so a lot of people had work in de morning, and honestly lots of folks were also busted after all de feteing. Usually Gen X m'gmt have to escort me inside, but this time TJJ was recognized by security at de door, so before you know it ... I was on the inside. There were some people feteing at Gen X who either came from a day fete or a lime somewhere, still going strong ... some real Soca Junkies!! Its amazing how people love Carnival sooooo much, holding on to every last second of a fete!! But nothing wrong with that!! Back to Basics (NY), DJ Rene (Orlando), Sel Construction and resident DJ Eternal Vibes were breaking the house down with some wicked soca chunes. Sizwe C and Mr. Slaughter gave live performances, so yuh done know, it was pure jamishness! When ah look at de time, I had to flex ... wuk in de mornin'!! Don't want to call in sick, and then the boss man come across some photos of me wining with a drink in meh hand!! So, Did Miami Carnival & Broward Carnival 2008 live up to the expectations?
