Let me start off saying that this is the first event I've covered in the Boogie Down Bronx, and this party is part of the reason why it's called the "Boogie Down"! Here is the quick scoop...

The venue is a nice size for a residential area - safe. The bartenders had the drinks the way I like - strong. I ordered a tangueray and cranberry and my drink was light pink ... yes, yes! The party didn't really set off until after midnight, but once it did, the eye candy was existent. Yeah yeh!! You would have thought it was summer time the way these smallies were dressed, but cute nonetheless. Ah even bounce up two birthday girls Nesha and Piesha (ages undisclosed). The deejay had the party jumping with tunes we all know and love, but when Mavado came on ... lawd, de crowd went bezerk and the vibes maintained throughout the rest of the night.

First Fridays @ Mystique will be seeing me again next month. And if other Bronx parties are like this, it looks like I'll be making some more frequent trips out to the BX!
