It's summer time and real fetes going on. We talking about parties and band launches fuh so! Just to add to the already large cast of bands is the new band on scene, Element. "Casino Royale" is their theme and Mas concept for Carnival 2K9, as it brings glitz, glam and intoxication of Vegas to the streets of Trinidad & Tobago Carnival as they present “What happens in Casino Royale, stays in Casino Royale.” With a selection of some of the biggest committees involved in T&T’s entertainment business such as Jamboree, Black Velvet Concepts, Mango Republic, Dos Piece, Privilege, Busspepper, Eyes Wide Shut, Incognito, and RH International they look like they are going to pack a storm.

The main masterminds behind the formation of this band are Colin Mitchell, Douglas John and Amanda Jardine. Almost two weeks ago, Element held their Media Launch at the casino in Movie Towne where two sections were unleashed. Of course, TJJ was up in dat too (see coverage)!

Around 12 midnight we reached on location. The ambiance was quite different as Pier 1 was transformed into one of the biggest casino look a likes, with the stage set up quite amazing and enticing. Bars were set up all around, with a VIP section upstairs for the media launch. To the right of the stage, Dun Hill also set up a Bar/VIP section which contained a wide selection of drinks.

Soon it was time for the main presentation, which had patrons spirits in high anticipation to see what “Casino Royale” had to offer. Dealers, Bellagio, Sahara, Caesars Palace, Cabaret, Treasure Island, Mirage, Jubilee, Queen of Hearts, Roulette and Lady Luck were the names of the sections in this band, and each had a special touch of Las Vegas. The presentation went on for about 45 minutes followed by the media presentation upstairs, where we got a closer look at the costumes.

Party vibes continued as DJs High Fidelity and 2nd Nature were on the wheels of steel heating things up musically. The all inclusive bars pumping out drinks by the glasses added that extra touch, making the overall party experience all the more enjoyable. The night continued with a nice vibe and not to mention, we were a part of it all, I really enjoyed myself!!
