On this first weekend in April, TJJ was indeed “Curious” to check out the scene at Kefi Lounge in Aventura. Now your TJJ reporter hadn't been to this event since December last year, but the event right around the corner from home base in Aventura, so we had to check it out and see what R.E.A.L Entertainment and Top Shelf had cooking this time around.

We remembered that Curious has a late-arriving crowd, so we reach the party just before 1:00am and after a quick check-in at the door, we were shocked to see a real small crowd on the inside. There was little need for concern though, as the outdoor terrace at the back of Kefi was the focal point at that hour, and most of the partygoers were lounging out back. However, within the space of an hour, the crowd was thick and most of the party was in on the inside.

Now, Curious is a real sexy upscale bash with both sexes dressing to impress, and the ladies especially were taking no prisoners with their attire. Note: Fellas, make sure and bring your “A” game to this one! Richie D was heating up the dance, throwing down a “Back in Times” mix of classic dancehall, hip-hop, soca and club bangers (“Silent Morning”, “Head 2 Toe”) and had the crowd shouting out choruses throughout the night. Some folks were throwing down on the dance floor, but most were here to get their sexy on and just vibe to the music. Even though this is not a real “get on bad” party, people were definitely enjoying themselves. Our only complaint is that the wait for drinks at the bar was real long ... the side bar stopped serving beer halfway through, and after a 20 minute wait just for a Heineken, yuh boy had no desire to visit the bar again.

It was 4:00am and the crowd was having such a good time that no one was trying to go home. They had to turn on the lights and shut off the music for folks to start heading out the door .... yuh think if they reach the party earlier they might be ready to go home by 4:30am? Mother Nature decided to bless us all with some torrential rain and wind just as we were leaving, but somehow I don't think people really minded. Big up to R.E.A.L. Entertainment and Top Shelf for letting TJJ roll through. We're looking forward to the next round.
