As summer time rolls on by here in South Florida, it brings us closer to one highly anticipated date at the end of the summer. No, not the first day of school, but instead Miami/Broward Carnival. So that means, all the band leaders plan and host their band launchings, and on this Sunday evening this was our 3rd such launch for the weekend. Being a Sunday, and Monday was work, it started earlier than normal party time so as to end within at a reasonable hour. This was not our first event at Café Tobago, but thus far it was the most crowded, Even the plaza outside of Café Tobago was lined with people taking up early position to get a good view of the presentation.

Eternal Vibes was on the set keeping the vibes moving till launch time, and the bartenders and food servers were kept busy. Also, there was a steady line of folks trying out the Bake and Shark from Sweet Hand Kathy or the Jerk Chicken. As it approached the hour of 10 o’clock, folks started to slowly make their way outside to the stage area setup for the launch. Now the members of China Mas Group had not just planned to show us their 2008 costumes, they planned to entertain us. Before the models, we were treated to African drummers and dancers putting on a show, in keeping with their "Africa Africa" theme for the band. Finally it was time for the real show, and to the sound of the African drummer, each section was displayed to the eagerly awaiting crowd.
