5 years.... yes, 5 years boy!! Busspepper Promotions has been pleasing the party folk in London for 5 years now and they wanted to celebrate this occasion in the best way they know how - in style! We were in a brand new location for this party, the swanky Sway nightclub around the Holborn/Covent Garden area. The club was more open than the usual venues, with 2 main rooms. One was the lounge area with some big round tables and booths and other bar tables - this was the liming/social area. The other room was the dance area, where the DJ Kern from High Fidelity/Less Than Zero and DJ Markee did their stuff, which meant this is where the majority would try to jam in all at once. Actually a lot of people were talking about the new venue, with most liking the change. Yuh know how Caribbean people, especially Trini's can get bored quickly! Party-go'ers also liked that the club had 2 entrances, so 2 lines could operate smoothly ... yuh know, one for the V.I.Ps nah. Well as we at TJJ always on the lookout for some fresh talent, so we had rookie M'D' there too, who you should be hearing more from in the future. M'D': Hello my good people and a special shout out to those who attended Busspepper's 5th Anniversary party. Well to be honest, this was my Busspepper initiation as I have been guilty in past of placing my name on guest list, but no show on the night. This time I put on my glad rags (aka party clothes) and hyped up myself for a boss night. On entering Sway, the atmosphere felt like a wine bar lime, however this soon changed. Mr. DJ dropped his set and got people gyrating to a blend of sweet Soca and other Caribbean and RnB beats. Even at the bar whilst waiting for our drinks we found ourselves moving to the music in anticipation to returning to the dance floor (or designated wining partner); for some this was a borrow or a thief wine!! Even sweeter, of course I wouldn't know as my husband was there also policing the wine. Anyways ... besides the wining politics, the night for me was well accepted although at one point the temperature was a bit high. No, not mine ... the place was a bit hot, however for us experienced limers and feteing extraordinaire' we cooled down with a JD and coke and continued our enjoyment. Based on the faces I've seen on the website's gallery the Busspepper loyalist were there representing and enjoying what seems to be a sweet lime of consistence. My night ended with a sweet wine - from the husband of course *lol* - a catch up with some close friends and a sample taste of Hassan's "to die for" curry, which I must say was worth the taste, but kept me wanting more as all my friend gave me was a taste!! Ah can't blame her, it was too sweet to share!! Well I am pleased Busspepper lived up to my expectations ... I will definitely be on the guest list and show up next time, maybe even become a 'Busspepperlite' and join the fraternity of sexy dressed ladies that appear on Trini Jungle Juice's website! Was it a boss night? Yes, I can honestly say a boss night is what I had. If you weren't there, try it yuh might like it! Ah out ... M'D' ==================================== |
