Being advertised for almost a month now, Black Velvet Concepts presents "Level" - The Series, their edition for April 2008. The location - the cozy and seductive 51 Degrees night club on the Boulevard - where easy access, great parking and a safe secure environment is provided. We promptly arrived at half eleven and we made a little lime outside the venue (typical Trinidadian behaviour smile) and embarked inside at midnight on the dot. Mellow vibes on the outside, it really was kind of hard to go inside - de lime was sweet!

Blazing on the one's and two's were Detrimental Sounds, XTC and DJ Dane (Radioactive Sound). Playing all the regular tunes from each and every genre but with a special twist tonight as they went back ... waaaaaaay back, and brought out classic hits like Chubb Rock's "Treat Em Right", Black stalin's "Black Man Feeling To Party" and even Foreigner's "I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight". All the regular new tunes with the golden oldies just to make the crowd dance, feel the vibes, meet new people and socialize with old friends. The bar was off the chain too ... selling two Carib for $10 whole night - it even had a little sexy tub in one of the corners of the dance. Big up Carib (we still waiting on sponsorship smile)!

Decent mixes of people were in attendance, from all sorts of races and all different backgrounds and it was just glee and good vibes. No bad vibes present. The outfits were chart toppers too I must admit; where did they come out from tonight? Black Velvet surely had something going on in the mix that we were unaware about. We clearly understood what the hype was about! Outfits, Best Music, Sexy People and all around a lovely night out. We must say that the night progressed very slowly, but it was all worth the wait at the end.

Who say it must have some entertainment in the mix too? The man who ask us if we rolling around the dance with a lens-less spectacles and upon further investigation realizing that there are lenses proceeded to ask - "Allyuh sponsored by Windex or wha?" Pang Pang!!!! Even the doubles man outside after the party had some entertainment ... who say you must not ask for pepper if yuh doh eat pepper?? Or doubles so expensive we only have money for a Chubby to wash it down!! But wait, Chubby doh cut the pepper, we need milk or bread ... man buy ah Tampico!!!!!!! Pang Pang!!!! Entertainment!

Black Velvet Concepts - Kudos! Keep up the good work in the party arena! We in your next party/event absolutely!!!!!!

Amiel for the TJJ fam... doh worry London, ah coming back!
