Date: Friday 26th & Saturday 27th December 2008 Location: The Shade. Tobago, W.I. Promotions: Sunset Entertainment Click on thumbnails to see the big picture/entire gallery Alright, you know D' Young Juice is the exclusive photographer for The Shade, so we got to do a lil' coverage for we peeps in 'Bago as The Shade celebrated it's annual Big Boxing Night Bash. Let's just start by saying ... the dance was ram and filled with the sweetest girls! Talking to the promoter, Sunset Entertainment (Rene and Darren), they gave a little story of last year's Boxing Bash scenario. We were told that there was a line from the Store Bay Road (by the Chinese restaurant) straight to The Shades door as that night was the official reopening of the nightclub after it's incident. Some referred to it as a Zen night at The Shade with that rush. So it's a new year and TJJ on the scene, so let we see if the legend continues. On a plane about 7.00 PM Boxing Day, Umi Marcano, Rapid Response and I heading to our sister isle with each one having a mission in mind ... Umi to serenade and bring out the sexy girls, Rapid to build the vibes and D' Young Juice to capture the memories.
Scheduled touchdown in 30 mins, and from the airport it's straight to Channel 5 for the "Total Lock Down" show. Interviewed by Latoya Williams, Umi Marcano did a lil' something on air and made reference to what he was in Tobago for with the big tag line "To bring out the sexy and swanky ladies of Tobago". On the road again and this time to the newest radio station to hit Tobago 91.9 FM (100% Soca) for a quick interview and a last call for the peeps of bago to come out to The Shade, especially the ladies. By this time, it was 11 PM, and it's just enough time to take a fresh and head to the party. Passing by The Shade before reaching the guest house, the seen was unbelievable as traffic was backed up with cars parked all over.. and woman all over for so. Not meaning to exaggerate, but you would never believe the scenario unless you saw it yourself! By this time, one thing was on our mind - get ready and reach back to The Shade fast, fast! Fast forward .... we inside and is no time to skylark as the vibes blazing for so, just enough time to take a drink and "click fingers". Photography at its best with the ladies posing, wining and having a time for the camera. By this time, Umi hit the stage just making the ladies "Move That Body", and get "De Feeling". The thing now start as Scientist and Pompye (Rapid Response), gave a session of some old school or sound boy tunes like Spragga Benz's "Pumpum Conqueror" that mash up the place. Bottles courtesy The Shade Manager for the boys, complements of the season, and you know that always seem to rope in the girls. Sweet, sexy, and swanky all different heights, and sizes, to a point where D' Young Juice on a Carib case winning low. The Boxing Bash night left us with a bang, and even a hangover, but say what ... it sweet and is something to look forward every year! Vibes was so nice, we returned to The Shade twice ... for Seductive Saturdays the following night, where rapper/actress Queen Latifah (photos - 98, 119, was up in the cut! Boop Boop!! Happy Boxing Day folks! D' Young Juice |
