With the 2008 Plymouth Jazz Festival behind us, we finally could spend more time enjoying beautiful Tobago. After Sunday night Jazz, there was an island wide blackout - which we heard affected even a part of Toco. But yuh think that stop the liming??!! Who yuh kiddin'!! We got the special text that the After Party was at Brian Lara's house ... and if you don't know by now, if it's HOT and EXCLUSIVE, Trini Jungle Juice in the MIX!

So after driving in pitch blackness, we found the venue. People mingling in a very intimate setting created by the candle lights. At the back of the house was a Red Bull party mobile with live DJ spinning tunes. If you see this mobile party caravan!!! Full DJ booth with a huge flat screen on it, showing some of Red Bull Extreme Sporting events which took place at various worldwide locations (including Trinidad). We think TJJ will be investing in one of these party caravans, yes!! The overall vibes was very social (heh, it's a Lara event), but when power finally came back, the party was filled with seXy people having a nice time. We finally made it back to home base after 5 in the morn.

Monday morning, cocks crowing .... what's the plan? Well, we were told that the promoters of the popular Beach House fete were having an appreciation party at the Sandy Point Beach Resort today from 12-6pm. Invitation Only event ... we like that talk ... we dey! In true Trini fashion, we arrived at about 3:45pm ... and so did the bulk of the crowd. We wonder if Tobagoian's have the same issue with time we Trini's have?? Hummm .... we will have to investigate further!! smile A shot of Dooley's at the door and we on the inside with a smile on we face (the effects of alcohol, yes!). Large up Kerry for taking care of us.

I've never personally experienced a Beach House fete at it's original Blanchisseuse Beach venue, so it was nice to party at a venue overlooking the beach (photo). And better yet, being able to watch the beautiful sunset while partying away (photo) ... words alone cannot explain! Supplying the musical vibes were Beach House resident DJs, Joy Juice and the Trini Technician Jus Jase. And we must add that the music was on point! New chune, old chune, you name it. The DJs even caught us off guard when they buss out long time classics from the Kisskadee Caravan ... yuh remember Yard Fowl Crew, General Grant, Kindread and Sister Ron?? Big Trini chunes like "Dan it Up" and "Shot Call" ... memory lane!!

Now unlike the regular Beach House parties, this one wasn't an All Inclusive. However, there were two easily accessible bars to satisfy party-go'ers. And if your belly was growling, catered food could be purchased on the beach-front downstairs. They offered freshly cooked chicken, pork and shrimp with noodles and salad. Although the food was on the pricey end, it tasted great!

With belly full and drinks in hand, it was time to get we party on! And the hottie Carib girls definitely got the party started. Much luv goes out to Sheena! The atmosphere and vibes in this fete was perfect ... so everyone was happy when the party got extended, eventually wrapping up around 7:30pm with the crowd chanting to the rhythm of Machel ft Lil' Jon & Pitbull's "Defense (The Anthem)". The DJs announced that the party will only be BIGGER and BETTER in 2009, before informing everyone that the after party was being held at The Deep nightclub (a stone throw away). So gentle peoples, we telling from now .... when booking your travel for 2009 Tobago Jazz, be sure to leave no earlier than Tuesday or late Monday night ... cause Beach House Jazz '09 will be a SURE HIT!!!

Fast forward to Tuesday ... sailing time is 5pm back to Trini. But, who tell us we could wake up late and still try to make a turn to Store Bay for food before going to Pigeon Point for a dip!! Wotlessness at it's besssss again as we watched the gates for the boat close as they took the last vehicle on board. Mind you, cars that were behind us get on the boat!! Such is life ... so now we on the Warrior Spirit at 11pm. 6 hours of sailing in we backside ... jeez-an-ages!!
