Miami Carnival come and gone, fading into past memories... Fantasy Fest just pass, and now we in November. Already we in November? Jus now is Thanksgiving, Christmas and 2008 will be over!! And you know November is the month to start thinking bout the year that jus past, taking a trip down memory lane so to speak. And with that means all the parties in November will have a similar theme, harking back to the olden days. That's right ... if yuh didn't know, November is the month for Old School parties.

So said so done! First out the blocks are the guys over at sixAxis Ent, who bring us F.R.I.E.N.D.S. every 1st Saturday of the month here in South Fl. And this month, this year, the 1st Saturday fell on the 1st of November, so they hit us with the aptly named "Back in Times ... School Daze"!!!

This is one of the most highly anticipated events in South Florida, so much so that when they staged their spring time version, Sosta ram out so much they had to stop admitting folks. This year they reach back all the way to NYC and imported one of New York's top Soca DJ sounds ... Back to Basics, so we knew it was gonna be off da chain tonight. The flyer said to squeeze into your old school uniform, but we know that was not gonna be a good look for us so we decided to pass on the dressing up part, but thankfully some ladies went the extra step and came out in some school uniforms. All we can say is if corporate America institutes mini plaid skirts into the dress code, we ain't never missing another day of work!!! Doh talk bout the knee high socks too ..... nahice!! Even Sig Juice break out she old Tranquil uniform and come out looking all innocent (photo) ... which we can tell you, she ain't!!

With Major Links on the set from early on, things started off with some old school dub, then C.I.Dee Sound change it up with some calypso and their trademark Old School Hip Hop session, had people doing the running man in the place ... at least we think that is what they were doing. So when Back to Basics come on the set and hit them with some classic classic dub like Shabba's "Ting aling a ling," the place gone mad, is hands in the air!!

The party was sweet too bad, and with the extra hour we got because the clocks rolled back for PST (Party Saving Time ... hehe) it was extra niceness. We will be back next month at Sosta for their "Jingle F.R.I.E.N.D.S." episode ... the pastelles last year was da bomb!!
