After parking a mile away ... lawd ah know you all must be tired of us New Yorkers complaining about parking!! It is what it is!! The good vibes from the attendees of this event were refreshing and lasted all night. From the moment we arrived at 10:55pm, the atmosphere was peaceful and elegant. There was a little delay at door but that was quickly straightened up.

Once inside, the DJ kept your appetite for soca pacified, with one of my personal favs Scrunter's "Bachelor". The staff at Cipriani's live up to their name. They flooded the place early on, but once the show started they cleared out and people seemed to magically appear in their place. The ladies were looking rheeelll nice too! But wait I ain't reach the bar yet! Lawd, sorry folks I was a lil' distracted by the action.

Now I saw plenty flags waving for all performers and I will say that the Red, Black and White flooded de place (again). Bajan band Krosfyah with Edwin Yearwood had the crowd jumpin' and carryin' on ... and rightfully so with there slew off jams. After their set, the DJ’s continued the jammin'. Then at 2:45am Machel Montano HD comes out and every body goes MAD, including me!! I almost forgot I was working! The energy was elevated and intense for a great hour and fifteen minutes till it was time to go. The swanky Cipriani venue would never be the same!!! Oh lawd, before leaving, unfortunately for me, I didn't manage to escape the Powder Posse! Lol!

All in all, ACNY 2008 was definitely a satisfyingly great experience. There was a little ruckus in the front, but security quietly took care of that. You know how rum and some folks just don’t mix! smile
