Date: Sunday 24th August 2008 Location: Embargo. 533B Kings Road. Chelsea, London SW10 Promotions: Babash Events Click on thumbnails to see the big picture/entire gallery After a hectic day bathing in chocolate and getting on bad for Day 4 of the TJJ Notting Hill 2008 Fete-lympics®, there is no rest for Team TJJ. We arrive in Chelsea minutes to one in the morning, eager to see what Babash's Ultra All inclusive After Party has in store. Embargo was the chosen location, a small club located on the corner of London's exclusive King's Road. A sexy little venue with the choice of a 'chill out' room with sofas and cushions and the other half for jamming. Too many unnecessary stairs to climb after all that chocolate and paint today though!! Arriving late, but weren't worried as this fete was scheduled to continue until 4am, and if the vibes from Chocolate Mas/Abir today were any indicator, the party should be jamming!! So we were suprised to see a scanty crowd, especially with some people still wearing their jerseys from earlier today!! Fuss the lime too sweet, they forget to go home and bathe, yes! Ewwwwww... Che in de Mixx and Vendetta Sound System were spining tunes as always, with carnival hits from over the years, trying to get this tired crowd whipped into a frenzy. But even the best tunes were not enough to encourage the jammishness this time around. Now Kees Dieffenthaller (of KES the Band) was due to come on stage, so maybe the ladies' favourite could bring back the fabulous vibes seen earlier. A little after 2am, Kees arrives much to some screaming ladies delight and performed some of his hits such as "Right Dey" and "Lion", as well as, Usher's "Love In This Club". Two ladies in particular were eager to get on the stage and show this red man that the ladies in London have the moves!! A quick move into the chill out room showed that some peeps were more interested in food and sleep as we saw partygoers sprawled across the sofa's eager to catch some rest for the big day tomorrow. Rumour has it Babash was not the only 'quiet' party of the night, so we hoping all the wassy behaviour is being saved for the road tomorrow. Let's see if Lagniappe and Next Level PoisonUK can show us that London still have vibez!!!! Babash, thanks for having us!! Right ... we off for some well deserved rest ... the big day awaits ... Day 5 of the TJJ Notting Hill 2008 Fete-lympics®! Beth ==================================== |
