We fresh back from Tobago Jazz Fest, and braps ... party on a Wednesday night! Long time friend of TJJ, Marsha, say she celebrating her birthday with good fren Keston up at The Ranch in Santa Cruz ... so we deya! No questions! The event was called "7" and suitably planned on the 7th of May, but we assure you, this was no seven year old birthday party! Only grown and sexy folks present this evening, with most, nicely decked out in white. So yes, stormers were easily identifiable! By invitation only peoples!! Oh gosh man!! *lol* So we thinking, small and intimate lime amongst close friends and family on this somewhat quiet Wednesday night in Trini. No eh! This birthday party was more like a birthday fete! Everything was very well organized for this Semi-Inclusive event. Secured parking, and they weren't even allowing you to park in the carpark without an invi. Guestlist at the front door ... papa! Once inside, the venue was nicely decorated with glowing decor, which consisted of several number seven's. Food - plenty! The typical Trini All Inclusive spread ... bake n shake, doubles, corn soup together with the more solid chicken, pork and fish selections. The drinks end was a lil' confusing when we got there because it was listed on the invitation to bring your cooler, however, there were a couple of bars in place at the venue. Apparently one bar was only for VIP or special guests, and you needed a special wrist band to access. And then there was another bar serving only a specialty drink for the event. Ah can't remember the name of the drink, but after a few of those bad boys, no wonder! So if you didn't bring a cooler, you were alright ... at least we were! But wait, is that JMC 3Veni we seeing in the dance? So on top of having big time Trini selectors like Barry of Juggles and Dane of Radioactive playing chunes, Marsha and Keston have TnT #1 Chutney Soca band performing for their special day ... on a stage too ... papa oye! We personally didn't believe this party needed a live band to be a hit, but after catching some jokes when Keston (after having ah few drinks) got on stage with the mic bawling, "Where's my girlssssss??" and then hearing JMC 3Veni buss their big hit "Doi Festival" to mash up the dance ... we let it slide. Yeah, that song can do that! *lol* And we almost forgot to mention, earlier, the Tunapuna Vibration Engine Room blessed the party with some sweet pulsating riddims. The party wrapped around 11pm, and surprisingly, we weren't looking for any after parties. Got to get ready for St. Lucia Jazz Festival this weekend!! Where didn't I put that Liat booking again? *lol* Happy Birthday guys! Chooks aka Original Jungle Juice - Not From Concentrate |
