This party was like ah Summer Fest in the night time - both small and big crews brought coolers of all shapes and sizes, some even representing their national colours. From around 12:30AM, folks from all islands in the Caribbean started to trickle into the spacious indoor/outdoor venue. The musical line up was on point with DJ Stephen (d Professor), DJ Touches, Jaspa, Tony Tempo and Black Talon on the bill. Even DJ Corey, just back from New York, pass through. Keeping the place jumping, it was like ah feast of female flesh with waistline swinging left, right and center .... wining cah done. 'De Scandalous Crew' ladies reppin' bout four islands - Trini, St. Kitts, V.I. and Panama - were in De Panyard making sure that everyone who left they woman at home, feel at home. When these ladies land in your fete it is a sure recipe for having a grand time - they wine from start to finish! The fellas, not to be out done, were represented by 'Limer' the original winer from Trinidad. The Atlanta wining dan wine on every woman, yes! The crew with the biggest cooler was the Trini British Bajan connection ... ah 16 cubic fridge was placed on wheels and filled with Carib, Red Stripe, Heineken, Black Bottle (Guinness), Hennessy, Double Dogs and nuff Caribbean strong Rum - even home made. It was like we went back home to the Original PSA fete in Port of Spain, Trinidad!! Morning reach and you know TJJ cah leave yet, as de fete was now getting sweeter and sweeter with the sun starting to peep over the hill. After 8AM, the law came and say the music must stop. Trini's say, "Okay sir!", and as soon as the law left, it was bottle and spoon, iron rims and every metal found beating on the fridge like cooler!! Everyone gathered around it and beat on it. With raised voices making music in any and every way you know we could without electrical help, the Demolition Crew did the hardest part of the promotion business ... the cleaning up after the fete. All in all, it was an event not to miss. Know that TJJ will be reppin' again next year, so folks doh linga on this one. Come and catch the fever with your BIG cooler in time 2000 and 9. Big respect to Bandy and the brothers, Nigel and others who worked hard to make it a safe and fun-filled time. Shabazz for TJJ ==================================== |
