Well it's summer in NY and the good Dear Lord blessed us with beautiful hot weather we island people love. With so much going on this weekend in Brooklyn, yuh done know TJJ have the agenda planned. I going since Wednesday night... yes, Wednesday night!!!! Stuppse, ah good time... I doh tink anybody love ah good time more than me, yes! But of course plans got altered when I got a call to link up with Team TJJ NY for another 2B Promotions' boatride. Ah party on de water? Of course ah dey! Boat sails at 8pm and by 6pm I was dressed and headed out making a quick stop at B2B's (Back 2 Basics) Curry Que... said our hellos and good-byes with all intentions to come back after the boatride.

Now, it's minutes to 8 and I just hit the Westside Highway. Rushing.... I don't know why, because like I seem to forget that we island people operate like we still living in the islands - on our own time of course. I attempted to find parking on the streets near the pier, which had me on a frustrating merry-go-round. I decided to go to a parking lot across the street in fear of missing the boat. (Don't ever leave any on your valuables in the car when you leaving it in ah lot eh... I'll tell you why later)

We hit the pier, and sifted through the crowd that was on line to get on the boat. Everybody looking niceeee, ladies looking sexy and gents looking sweet... mature crowd... I like the vibe already. Stepped on the boat and was welcomed with big hugs and kisses from the whole crew, which made me feel right at home. After the introductions, all I could hear is IRON.... ah want to find it!!! I followed the sweet sounds upstairs and to my surprise these people getting on already.... dey ent wasting no time!!!

So the team started making some rounds, but after 15 minutes realize we aint have on drinks!!! I know we real stick dey. So we make our way down to the bar, but before we can bend the corner here comes Calvin of 2B Promotions, "What all yuh drinking?" Come to realize Calvin and my husband are good friends. I'm sure some of you guys know him or have met him at some point in time. His name is Johnnie... Mr. Johnnie Walker if yuh want to be formal. ;-) Well drinks started flowing like rain... drinks till I had to give away drinks. Aye aye aye!!! Oh yeah, big up Joann too... she hooked up another TJJ member with de outside man.... Chivas. He he. She said to take a drink.... doh study de size ah de bottle! LOL!

We sailing and everybody in a trance. The big bad Foreign Bass on the mic and Crazy Bennie on the 1's and 2's.... and oh lawd the vibe taking meh back home with tunes like "Frankie" and "Phuck Away". The Rhythm and Tassa section mashing it up... and den all yuh hear is, "Aayyyyyeeee.... Listen Mr. Chankar". Well it gone clear.... is More Rum For Me, More Rum For Me, More Rum For Me!!!!! Not a sole was sitting still.

Den everybody start looking at dey pants, den at dey shoes, den at dey t-shirt and even me... cause we "DUTTY"!!!!!! We heading back to the pier and only about 5 songs to go... we start going 'Down de Road.... Jamming down de boat and winning like criminals that we are. The highlight of the night.... is Benjai closing the show and ah holding meh head..... is fete we come to mash down and nobody standing up with a frown. Two fellas with large Trini flags stamping dey name on the boat, and TJJ busy trying to capture all de bacchanal.

Allyuh done know that certain TJJ members like to eat ah food.... truss it was good, especially the macaroni pie!

We back at the pier, music stop but everybody still winning dey way off the boat. Why? Because the Rhythm and Tassa section escorting we out of course. We had ah blast... great vibe, amazing people and gorgeous night.

p.s. Ah forget to tell allyuh..... dey teif meh $500 camera in de damn parking garage!!!!!!
