Spanish Fever anyone!!?? Trini Revellers Carnival 2008 presentation "Que Viva Mexico" was ¡muy caliente! Arriving there at about minutes to 10 PM, we were hoping to catch the main presentation before jumping ship to the next event. Well that was the plan, but folks allyuh know how time cud fly and also about that lil' ting called "Trini Time".
The crowd was just starting to thicken on the inside and after a little investigation, we learnt that upstairs was the place to be before the official presentation began. Making our way up to a room filled with an array of sequins and feathers consisting of nearly all the colours under the sun, were the models who were gearing up and making sure they looked 100% sexy and complete for the grand showing. All 20 sections were in vibrant colours with a Latin American flair, and we surely took the opportunity to get some up close and personal pre-show shots.
Pressed for time, we continually gave into our bad habit of checkin' de time until at about 10:30 PM a loud horn was sounded in the dressing room accompanied by a PSA advising all that the presentation was about to get on the road and to tie up ends. That was our call to head down and find a suitable spot by the stage, while taking the opportunity to get a couple pics of patrons as we walked along.
The Mas Presentation was kicked off at about 11PM with P.R. for the band, Enrico Rajah, taking the stage and introducing to one and all what Trini Revellers had to offer for the up and coming 2008 Carnival season. Section by section, all 20 came on stirring echoes of applause and cheers from the crowd. After the near one hour long presentation, all the models were then called back on stage for a final showing, glittering the catwalk with colour and excitement. There was even a fireworks display at this time too.
The Carib Girls were on the scene doing their regular promotions while tonights audience hosted some specially invited guests which included the Deputy Head of the Mexican Mission, Eduardo Baca, as well as, T&T and Barbados French Ambassador, Charley Causeret.
As we were about to press on to our next stop, JMC Trevini took to the stage to give their performance. We also heard that Shurwayne Winchester & Traffik were carded to perform. Unfortunately, we weren't lucky enough to catch that act. No worries ... de season almost here, we bound to see them sometime real soon. Reporting
