Today is actually a pivotal day in the Fete Olympics as events run continually through into Day 10 for Breakfast Parties, so it a serious matter of pacing one self. So, while part of Team TJJ decided to bat some drinks and rest up for the original Vale Breakfast Party, the rest of the team decided to participate in ZEN's "Trini Posse'07" fete. This event has been going on for quite some years, and the best way to describe this fete is "Bacchanal Wednesday" with coolers. But not a crap load of coolers where you cannot even take 2 steps without tripping on some stocks! Once you get to the Bowen Marine, there's lots of parking options. We took a quick spot towards the back of the V.I.P entrance, checked off at the gate and were quickly on the inside. We noticed the Machel Montano HD bus parked outside, which meant feters were in stored for some High Definition. Not to long after we arrived, Imij & Co. was on stage. Their strategy for the 2007 Carnival season is to deliver all the big hits from the various Soca artists in one high energy performance, and it seems to be working. Of course, they also perform their own songs in the mix. As we personally told Michelle X, we love her added sexy antics this season . very entertaining, yet tasteful. Towards the end of their act, King David Michael Rudder blessed the stage. No matter how old his songs or how many times you hear them, they sound just as sweet as the first time. "Where de man with de hammer gone . Tell me where he gone ." Around 2AM, Destra and Atlantik was on stage, so you know feters go ah nice jump up to Destra & Naya George's "Last Lap". In between bands, DJ High Fidelity/Less Than Zero kept the vibes nice. Partygoers in this fete always tend to enjoy themselves, especially the ones with well stocked coolers! The VIP section was comfortably packed out on both sides of the stage, and you had your artists, models, and celebs mingling backstage. Local artists Blazer, Benjai and Zan, NBA baller Jamal Magloire, JA Reggae artist Mr. Vegas and Trinidad and Tobago's second Miss Universe (1998), Wendy Fitzwilliam were some of the folks we saw. Big up to MTV TEMPO VJs, Hector and Anuscha just cooling on the inside. Time to "Jumbie dem"! Machel Montano HD blessed the stage around 3AM. If you were at AC 5 or caught Machel already for the Carnival season, you already know what kind of show to expect .. "Higher Than High", "One More Time", "Scandalous", "Carnival Survivors", "Big Truck" are some of the selections sung. Mixing things up at Trini Posse, Machel introduced Blazer Dan who sang his popular song "Be Mine Tonight" (Stay tuned to TJJ TV for video clip). Benjai also graced the stage performing "Jah In Your Life" "I iz a youth that sing meh Soca, but I'm a swanky fella!" Big tune! Also Farmer Nappy got a chance to sing his contribution for C2k7, "Capsize (Capside)". Before getting to the real "Jumbie" action, both Zan and Partice Roberts took center stage singing "The Heart of A Man" and "The Islands" respectively. "We ready . we ready we ready ready for mas again." What would Carnival 2007 be without Machel's "Jumbie"??!! Yes, most of the crowd was waving their glow sticks in the air as fire works lit up the sky to Machel & Patrice's "Light It Up", but when it was time for "Jumbie", all man jack was doing de Jumbie dance (including Team TJJ)!! After Machel Montano HD was done, the DJs took over again, but that was the signal for folks to start packing up their coolers and grab a quick bite to eat. Special thanks to the management of ZEN for allowing TJJ to pass thru. Let's hop over to MOBS 2 for the infamous Insomnia. Happy Birthday to our homeboy Jono (Angel Magik)!
