Trinidad Promotions: TRIBE Click on thumbnails to see the big picture/entire gallery From the files of the TJJ Fetealotathon® Blue Team, we bring you an account of event # 3 on Thursday February 15th 2007, Carnival Thursday in sweet TnT. The Red Team and the Blue Team converge at the Queen's Park Oval after participating in Beach House Carnival and Headley's All Inclusive (Salybia) respectively. Yes indeed, the same Queen's Park Oval that will be home to the ICC World Cup 2007 Group B matches in a couple weeks. We not on d people and dem pitch doh, we in the parking lot, so relax. This is the fete we like to call the "bad mind fete." Why we call it that you ask? Well, after you participate in two top notch All Inclusive Fetealotathon® events, as both teams did today, there really isn't any justification to be in a Drinks Inclusive event tonight! Well except the fact that it's Carnival and lime cyah done! Nobody of sound mind and body would even dream of going home and missin' this one, despite what yuh feet and yuh liver might be telling you! :-) And most of all, who would convey the spirit of the event to the world if TJJ not there!?! Off we go to do our civic duty, let see what's on and popin' on the inside. First order of business, backstage for some exclusive shots. However, due to no fault of our own, they decide to put several bars bam smack in our way on the way to the stage. The Fetealotathon® Handbook, page 17 rule 492.1a clearly states: No bonafide Fetealotathon® participant must at anytime, for any reason whatsoever, be seen passing a bar, without some form of ardent spirit being consumed by said participant. Not wanting to run afoul of the rules and regulations of Precision Feting, we decided to do the right thing. ;-) It's now about midnight and the word backstage is that we missed KES the Band with Nadia Batson and Rikki Jai. However, Bunji Garlin and the Asylum band were gearin' up to start their show. Before we knew it Bunji was on stage mashing up the place and guest artiste like Fay-Ann Lyons-Alvarez ("Make Ah Stage (M.A.S)"), Peter Ram ("Woman By My Side") and Iwer ("Fete After Fete"), all made cameos with Asylum. Got to also give mad props to the crazy pan man who perform "Pan & Soca" with Bunji.... beating steel pan upside down and all kinda madness, it was a real show yes!! During Bunji's show, there were fire blowers in the crowd "Ignite-ing" the skies above the Oval. Between sets, DC #1 DJ Sprang Int'l alongside Hypa Hoppa (RED 96.7FM) kept the vibes going strong. Other acts on the night were by Imij & Co. and Mr. Slaughter. Destra & Atlantik was the grand finale for Ignite and then we were chippin out the oval to Tassa. We've branded Ignite the official "bad mind" event and it is already a compulsory event on the Fetealotathon® calendar. Join us next year as we stumble into the Oval to participate in one of the sweetest limes of Carnival week. As always, we say thanks to the entire TRIBE posse for the hospitality.
