On this chilly night in Hot-lanta, Rico Vibes together with D-Fine Entertainment put on one of the hottest shows in town. Not even the cold weather could stop the massive from coming out to groove to big stage performances the night had in store. People came out like is was a food fest ... and they were well fed. On top of the deadful weather, it rained all day, yet all the butter-scotch still came out. Resident DJ Natural Vibes held up the early vibes setting the stage for Mr. John Wayne to raise the heat inside. Trini DJ Shane of Black Talon further heat up the furnace with some pure fyah dub plates. Around 2:30AM, the big Shiloh band took the stage and it was "on like boil corn," as we say in Trini. They prep the crowd as MC Deputy called for the stage lights to turn up. As it did, he called to the front opening guest artist New Kidz, who lick out some new stylee like "Ah Lot Ah Gal" and "Real Hustlas". He also danced like only the New Kidz straight outta yard could. He and Singer Mitch held the crowd in awe for 15 minutes as they went back and forth DJ to Singer giving the crowd a treat. The pace New Kidz set was just right for the next artist to follow ... big sweet voice Wayne Wonder. As MC Deputy introduced Wayne Wonder, a crowd ah gal rushed the stage. Some fans even held on to his pants touching him everywhere they could; screaming and reaching for Wayne's sweet singing voice. He let the Atlanta crowd have it to the max, with oldies as well as the new selections like "Hotter Than Fire" and "For My Love". Then a big movie star came on stage and guess what? As always, TJJ was right on spot to catch the special performance by Louie Rankin (photo), who mash up de dance. It was don dada, gun talk as the star from movies like 'Belly' and 'Shottas' spoke about his upcoming movie to be released in February 2008 called 'Get Enemies'. He said he loves Atlanta for ATL bad bowys doh talk... dey jus shoot!! Also, Louie Rankin mentioned that he just came to see good fren Buju. Anyone who stayed home tonight must be surely feeling a lost now, for the word must have spread around town how tuff this show was. Even the bassman Maurice Duncan of Luciano's band was there to play for Wonder, who had his hype man Showkin rockin' the place with him. When they walked off the stage it was 3:45AM. After the Shiloh band changed bassmen, Marc Stewart of Island Coast did the honours of calling out Gagamel, the lyrics Banton, the changed man Buju Banton who has now given his life to speaking for the upliftment of the youth and people in general. Buju hit the place hard and furious with the ladies wanting more and more. Even after one hour of straight performance, Buju was still going strong. Louie Rankin came back on stage and asked Buju, "Do you work out?", for he was wet with sweat from head top to shoe bottom. Gagamel blessed the fans with songs form his 'Til' Shiloh' and 'Inner hieghts' albums. He even fulfilled Rankin's request, going back to the 'Battie Rider' days singing a couple tunes. Then it was back to the matter at hand - pure big vibes! TJJ surely represented for all who missed this one, bringing the vibes to you. Yet, there's nothing better than being there in person!
