Prosperity, Blessings, Guidance and Good Wishes were the slogans used to express the upcoming year. So we know New Years Eve is either spent with family, friends or loved ones at church, home or even a night club. The Young Juice and D' local Juice decided to spend it at 51º.
Black Velvet committee decided to end the old year and bring in the New Year with their annual Ole Years Night party called “Shine”. A premium drink inclusive event with a semi-formal dress code. So we tried to be there a little early (usually it's always ah after midnight ting), as we wanted to catch the transition and enjoy the moments as we went from de Ole Years into the New one. We were on de scene at about 10:30 pm, did de usual link up and was on de inside in ah two two's.
In keeping with tradition, first stop ... the bar, which was pretty accessible since the majority of the crowd, being Trinidadians, didn't reach yet. Premium drinks included Johnnie Walker Black, Smirnoff vodka, Black Label rum, chasers and of course for the “Toast”, champagne. Slowly but surely the crowd came, with the majority trying to arrive before the stroke of midnight. Our cameras even caught Mr. Machel Montano HD (photo) on the inside.
Finally the time came and all joined in the countdown to 2008.... 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.... HAPPPPPPPPPY NEEEEW YEEEEEAAAAR!!! As the toast of a happy and prosperous new year was made, confetti spilled on the dance floor. Of course wishing a new year would entail kisses, and you know we are TJJ are more than happy to share the love!! Hehe. It's 2008, and the party rockers swung away as Detrimental, Associate Degree, Tekk, and Aaron took the 1’s and 2’s. Drinks flowed and the crowd danced on this new year.
Well folks there goes another year ... wishing you all the best for 2008 and beyond!! Definitely looking forward to seeing you all for another God Blessed year.
