Winers, Socializers & Drinkers
Island People in de air!! Island People in the air!! Those were the chants of some of the patrons on entering Island People’s event ‘Represent’ on Thursday 30th August at Pier One, Chaguaramas. Of course red, white and black were the colours portrayed by patrons that night marking our nation’s Independence. Partygoers dress also went in hand with the theme of the fete... WINERS - Red; SOCIALIZERS - White and DRINKERS - Black. Of course you had the choice to mix and match colours if you wanted to represent more than one of the choices.
We made our way into the party at half twelve. Talk about vibes!! The atmosphere was welcoming. Socialites “in ah frenzy, in ah frenzy aye aye aye aye!!” All smiles, people singing to the top of their voices, it was sheer bliss – no, hahaha it was free premium drinks!!
Before the party began a ‘rock star’ version of the anthem was played via guitar... yes guitar; followed by fireworks to mark Trinidad and Tobago's 45th Independence. Happy Independence to all of T&T!!
Well, folks after that, rhel pace! Premium drinks started flowing, the DJ’s High Fidelity/Less Than Zero hypnotized the crowd with Soca and Dancehall tunes... talk about wine!! Wine cyar done!! If this is the caliber of people that playing mas with ISLANDpeople Mas next year, trust meh, ‘yuh go like yuhself’!! Hehehe...
Well, after all the socializing... and the wining... and the free drinks, we took advantage of the ‘cut heads’ at the entrance of the party.... mmmm
Together ISLANDpeople 'Aspired' and together they most certainly did ‘Achieve’ to bring us an event that was a memorable one.
