After a hectic Notting Hill Carnival Season 2k7, Bazoodee Entertainment presents "Red" - The Carnival Last Lap. We heading down SE1 in London Bridge for this event and we not tired, we just going to have some good fun and enjoy the vybz. Scheduled to perform tonight is King David and DJs for the night are Mr. Marvel & Diesel, Jugglers Sound System (96.1WEFM, Trinidad), DJ Markee, Armada Sounds and Natural Affairs.

SE1 Club located on Weston Street, London Bridge is more of a chameleon. We were here for the Rezzarek After Party to Machel's Concert just a week ago and it was this huge open space with two separate rooms. Tonight, its two smaller rooms, quite interestingly laid out with balloons scattered all over the floor, one main bar, an elevated DJ booth and an elevated food area.

Arriving minutes to twelve, since this event is scheduled to finish at 4:00 am (yeah we liming till late in the London), the party was a tad bit scanty but nothing to be scared about since the promoters were all confident and they were smiling. Not too sure who were on the 1's and 2's at that time, but hey it's all good ... just mellow music running and we gauging the place.

As more patrons came storming into the venue, Mr. Marvel and Diesel then stepped up and took the DJ booth to ensure everyone was having a good time. Starting their set with Machel Montano's "One More Time" and then ringing in all the goodies of Soca from this year and last year, especially my new favourite Benjai's "Movin' Yuh" (yeah that is ah bad tune). Diesel started the party really - people were bubbling, doing their crazy little wine by themselves, jamming out on ah friend or just chilling. The dancehall session was little uneasy as it was mainly dancing tunes so from "Willie Bounce" to "Tek Weh Yuhself" to "Dance Instructions" to "Rum Ram". There were even one or two patrons actually doing these dances amongst the scattered array of balloons that were on the ground. (There was this particular woman who was afraid of balloons so she stayed by the door for the entire night ... just thought ah would mention that!)

Now King David was supposed to perform, but due to unforeseen circumstances he could not make it, and so instead Roger George took his place and performed a wonderful medley of songs such as "So Sick", "Tempted To Touch", and "The World Needs More Love". During his performance, he took time to come off the stage to "touch" one of the sexy body females in the crowd. You go Roger!

Diesel and Mr. Marvel returned to the 1's and 2's and began the second rounds with a spice of old time Calypso and Soca such as "Big Truck", "Footsteps" and "Rev The Engine". A particular rasta man in the dance was doing a "rev the engine" dance .... quite hilarious ... he even threw it in reverse. Ol' time tune like "Conga Line" was in the mix as well, and as usual ah conga line "bound to be" created. This was a special conga line though ... it was a conga circle! It did not go through the party at all .... only in ah Bazoodee event would you ever see a conga circle!! Ploy! Ploy! The conga circle was mostly women though .... "How it go only have one man in de conga line," exclaims Mr. Marvel.

On the plus side, Joeanne was serving food in this event with her special menu consisting of boiling hot corn soup and chicken, mutton and vegetable roti. Quite a few people well enjoyed a hot cup of corn soup before leaving the venue and we noticed a couple patrons bussing up a roti or two during the party.

The Mighty Jugglers was up next on the mixing boards and continued basically where Diesel left off, spinning tunes and level bashment for the crowd to roll their batty, jirate with whoever they picked up, or even dance by themselves. Patrons really enjoyed themselves at this event - cool vibes, sexy body people and bashment music ... what more can you ask for to relax on a Friday evening??!!

Happy Independence Trinidad and Tobago, we celebrated it for you in London at Red. Bazoodee Entertainment, keep it up ... we in yuh next event for sure!!

Amiel
