Sttteeeuuupppsss.... parking in Manhattan! Those of you who live there completely overstand the pressha! Not to mention Spa 88 is located near Ground Zero, so not only was finding parking frustrating, it was also a bit erie. Finally, after our ordeal, we made it into the fete. Now we know, we were at a spa, but dang was it HOT! Hey, but you know West Indians... rain or shine and heat or frigid weather... they still fetting! We heard something about the A/C not functioning properly. No kidding! Even the camera was sweating!!! With the discomfort of the temperature on the inside, surprisingly we did not hear too many complaints. The ladies were appropriately dressed for the event in glamorous swimwear and summer dresses. The fellas on the other hand looked like they all should have opted to wear shorts and tanks. The service at the bar was extremely slow. We're not sure if it was due to the volume of orders or if they were just slow. Oh well, sometimes it just goes down like that at some events. Well since it was a pool party, we decided to check out the pool. We nearly fainted because we discovered a tiny puddle that only allowed a capacity of 1. LOL! The venue was multi-level though, so we knew there had to be another pool. After bobbing and weaving our way through the crowd... EUREKA!!! There it was... complete with lifeguard on duty! Poor thing.... looked like he needed ah drink! Hmmm, the pool looked so inviting but we had to focus on work. Now folks, this is the opportunity to jump in because it is actually a pool party. There were a few smart folks cooling of in the pool and of course the gapers on the side. The music was of course wicked with B2B, Foreign Bass and Natural Freaks rinsing out we ears with soca and reggae hits! People were jamming on the dance floor downstairs, upstairs and the rest just lounging at the rear on the sofas. Although, the event was a success, we know for sure it would have been even better if it were 20 degrees cooler. ;-) It's all good though. Thanks to Foreign Accent and Five Star Island Ent. One love. ==================================== |
