Captain's Log..... Ash Wednesday 2007, 10pm. It's RAH Wednesdays and Machel Montano HD is back at Club Zen, having done a concert on the Carnival Friday in Zen.

You should see how long the lines (both VIP and General Admission) are to get in! Let us just explain the situation with the line up. 10:30PM some TJJ Crew got in the VIP line.... we were in Diego Martin. Left Diego, went all the way to Aranguez to drop one of the newest members of Team TJJ who was draggin following a hard week of feteing. Came back to Port of Spain after 11PM, got a spot in Zen's car park and these fellas now reach towards the front of the line. We ent done yet. We proceed to lime for ah lil outside Zen before checking in with the club's management. Once inside, we still had to wait for another 15-20 mins before the rest of the crew got upstairs to VIP. So, from that lil' story, you dun know, HD @ Zen sell off!

On the inside, Zen's resident DJs were building the vibes as partygoers mingled and got their drink on. VIP was where it was at for TJJ, and it was a nice blend of crowd. We ran into some good friends of the Jungle that we haven't seen in ages. So special shout outs to our home girls Donna and Haley. Unis, nice every time. All our South FL, DC, NY, T.O, BIM, V.I and other crews on da inside.... large up! Shout out to the jacker who reversed without looking and backed right into the lime mobile in the car park. Since we sendin' shouts we cyah leave out nobody :-). Table secure, bottles of the Goose secure, let the festivities begin! Or should we say continue, after all, Fetalotahon® officially done and Team TJJ buss d tape in first place, but here we are still goin' strong. The lime cyah done.

Machel Montano HD got things rolling around 2AM, and they didn't waste no time.... it was straight to "Jumbie, Jumbie dem.... Jumbie, Jumbie dem." After convincing ourselves not to walk with our video cameras, thinking we would be seeing the same act over again..... here we were watching Machel perform up close and personal thinking, "Why de jail we not recording this!" It was one of those nights where Machel was just relaxed and was enjoying the audience. So much so, that at one point he had folks singing along to nursery rhyme "Row Your Boat". Can you imagine grown people in Zen singing "Gently down the stream" in response to Machel's "Row, Row, Row Your Boat"??

Although the crowd was not as responsive as Machel would have liked throughout, he managed to motivate certain partygoers to give the kind of reaction he was looking for. He understood that folks were just all partied out after a solid week of non-stop fetting with very little sleep. All his 2007 hits were sung, including some of our favourites like "One More Time" and "Down D Road". Other highlights on the night was the young and talented Patrice Roberts performance of "Sugar Boy" and the freestyle she did with Machel of "Light It Up". That girl can sing!
