So we storming through this Saturday - November 3rd 2007 - after leaving Skool Daze I have to go in my school uniform to an "All Black Halloween Masquerade Party" Would I stand out? Uhmmm... yuh think? We are now in King's Cross St. Pancras in the exuberant and massive Camden Centre and we are going to party till 4:00 AM! Yeah Baby! The scheduled DJs for the night were big bad Markee, the unique Lyrical Louix, the unstoppable Gladiators and the prominent Martin Jay all of which played RnB, Ol' Skool, Reggae and Soca. This was also the official 'Thank You' Party for all the patrons that played Notting Hill Carnival with PoisonUK for 2007 with the theme Incognito (a wear black party), where patrons were encouraged to wear a mask. Yuh coulda even purchase a mask from the PoisonUK store! Mostly everyone was in black, and the masks were really a hit ... even when we approached people to take a sexy photo, they insisted on putting on their masks.... we saw V for Vendetta and even the infamous Scream movie character. Righto, so we happen to reach just in time for a competition too. A prize was going for the best mask/costume .... four girls and a dude were chosen for the final on the stage. There was a group of partygoers only shouting, "Fiona! Fiona! Fiona! Fiona!", who some may know as one of our TJJ reps, and yes, the eventual winner - Congrats girl !!! With no carded artists on the bill, the PoisonUK crowd was treated to a surprise performance by an aspiring and up coming Trinidadian reggae/soca artist, Junior Don (www.trinijunglejuice.com/juniordon.html). Junior Don, who also goes by the name Soca Hybrid has an interesting concept for soca music and is quite the crowd pleaser. Keep an eye on this artist. By this time man I am dead tired and I just want to sleep, but the DJs just had me and the crowd still moving right down to the last tune. I tell yuh ... quality by Poison UK ... quality. It's Good!!!! So the rasta man cook a pot - Chef Hasan - was also in PoisonUK and had his tasty meals and cuisine for sale just to ensure that no one stays hungry. Joeanne was also there as well serving up her specialties, so you had two chefs in the mix. Now hear dis drama.... At the end of the night while patrons were waiting for the most reliable transportation system in the world - London's public transport - Joeanne was selling hot Corn Soup to wake us up. However, a certain individual somehow threw down the Corn Soup on the pavement and that cause a major stir ... hahahaha Talk about witty comments ... "that cost 36 pounds" ;"is three pounds for a cup of corn coup"; following these events ... another patron proceeded to tell the culprit, "you have to dip in yuh pocket to pay Joeanne but better yet.... " and then proceeded to scoop the corn soup off from the pavement and put it in a cup and told him "here, sell that!!!" Hahahahaha .... you just had to be there!! See pics 137-140 for your entertainment... only PoisonUK massive, yes!!! Hahahaha .... Boop Boop!!!!! Incognito was real mellow, just the event needed to close off my hectic weekend. Time for some rest now .... ah don't know when next you will hear from me again ... lol ... but wherever there is a Caribbean jump up in London, Trini Jungle Juice deya!!! PoisonUK, big up your status, the venue was real besss. Izs about time you all left SE1. Amiel |
