Since I got the rhythm of these Great Fete parties by the first few trials and this was my first Wet Fete, I was not planning to reach the fete anytime before midnight. But my friends from WinTV decided that we would go even later, which was cool with me. We arrived at Pigeon Point about 1:30am causing one big commotion at the door with all of our camera's. Then heading in, I actually felt the energy oozing out of the second entrance, and there was a reason for it.... the beach was ram! The energy was all there, and it was so packed that it was hard to make room to snap pictures, but I had to represent since the ladies put on their best Sunday outfits to flex out on cause this party was promised to til 10am in the morning. First performance was Garder Knight, in between DJ sets, then mouthy comedian Rachel Price came on the stage and rhel shite people up. It's not really my ting to make fun of people, but say wha! Now was this a Sprinkler Fete or a Wet Fete? Water finally came on at 3:30am and the DJs had to beg for it. There were about three storm-ins on the night as the barriers were not strong enough to keep the freeloaders out.... after all, people paid $200 to see Mr. Vegas!! Talking about Vegas, he finally came on stage around the same time the water came on. During his performance he had a dancing competition with two girls and some of his male crew. He then brought on his dancer from Jamaica, and a local TnT dancing crew went on stage and competed with her. You gotta see the pics... especially the charging bull !! Watching the sunrise was great and everyone was having a ball. I bounced up my gunthas and farmer boys from Tobago and limed with them till the barricades were pulled down and music stopped at 7:30 am. Then it was reeeeeeeal traffic get out!! But it always help to have a fisherman friend to pick you up and leave to go Speyside for their J'Ouvert. This made up for all the other parties. Next time I only going Wet Fete praying that it wouldn't be a sprinkler fete! ;-) Peace Keyz ==================================== |
