Ok peoples we all know about this fete and if you didn't know, then you must have just come off de boat cause it's Saturday Feb 3rd and we talkin about DCAL XII. This is one fete that is sell out in ah blink in an eye and if you laps on buying your ticket well hard luck padnah cause dis fete sell out long time.

We all know the deal - get there early cause line up go be quite round de bend and de bouncers and dem extra ignorant cause it mad cold outside so with peddle to meddle TJJ reach down at Kool Haus, Downtown Toronto in record time... 10:30pm and as always after ah quick security pat down and ah metal detector check of your shoes, we were on the inside in no time (thanks Myana!). The fete was already on the up and up and seeing that this is THE fete before Carnival 2k7 the common question of the night was, "When yuh leavin?" or "Who U playin wit?" Boy excitement in the air! MarXman was warming up the crowd with some sweet oldies but some tunes no matter how old will always cause the crowd to stir... did we mention excitement in the air!!

As we got down to business, the vibes were sweet and next ting in two two's Dr. Jay de Soca Prince took to the turntables and whap whap ~ party start, fete ram and like Machel would say, "We jumpin up all day, Jumbie Jumbie dem ... all night Jumbie Jumbie dem.. we ready!" (Run d big Machel Montano HD track "Jumbie") Oh gawsh.... Jay buss out d hot tunes for 2007 and the crowd was in ah frenzy! Of course you have the 'Jump Up Crew' in the epicentre of the fete (lol) running over people with their wildness, large up to the 'Saucy Baby Crew' who were holding it down up front by the stage - we see yuh! (lol). And big shouts to the men on the mic E-Man & Dirty Dez who with their skills only added to the hype.

As the night went on, a huge announcement was brought to our attention, and Trini Jungle Juice would like to congratulate Soca Sweetness on becoming the newest member of the KOS family! With that said it was his turn to mash up de dance.... We reach d'stage, we warmin up! Oh gosh talk about memories of Carnival 2k6...... whooweeee! At this point who could study the fact that it was minus so and so outside when Kool Haus was on fire inside. With rags & flags in de air of various islands you can see that we were all ONE nation enjoying our love for Soca music.

TJJ rolled out around 3:30am and the fete was still going strong! Much thanks to Dr. Jay & the KOS family for warmin us up for the upcoming weeks. We want to wish everyone a happy & safe TnT Carnival 2k7... allyuh mind yuh manners and arrive alive! And if you missed DCAL XII, well mark your calendars now - don't get left out in the cold - Dr. Jay's Return Fete is March 10th..... We go be dey!!
