Did someone say, "I think we're alone now?" Because we definitely weren't alone on the annual Children of the 80's boat ride presented by J.E.T. (Jay, Earl & Thane)!! This was the greatest boat ride for our Soca Summer.

Ah reach the parking lot just after 7pm and all ah could see were car trunks open, coolers full ah ice, chasers, alcohol and cups.... music blasting and people rhel limin'. We boarded around 9pm and it seemed like everyone on board came fully prepared to go back in times. Although everyone was not bussin' ah 80's style, the ones that did make the effort surely looked on point. Ah must say dat ah was personally feelin' my outfit as well hehe ;-) Ah mean ah had to support the theme... lol!

Now once the boat started moving and the party was pumping, on de water providing us with pure old school vibes.... spinning the best in old school pop and dance, hip hop, soca & reggae were.. the man who gives us our Soca Therapy Dr. Jay alongside Soca Sweetness and MarXman. And now they had to dig deep in their crates (well folders on their laptops to be precise... technology is a hell of ah ting eh) to drop all them tracks. Also rockin' de boat were our favourite T.O mc's E Man and Dirty Des. On this boat ride, we had ah special guest host Hypa Hoppa from Red 96.7 FM from Trinidad who came in his 80's outfit to represent. Doh get tie up, Dr. Jay, E Man, Soca Sweetness, Future Da Prince & Thane all came 80's stylee. And when ah say it was rhel kicks, that's not even the half of it... lol! No scene though because we all looked wicked and definitely up to mark with the 80's style. Now J.E.T didn't stick at all eh.... they had prizes ready for the best dressed. Think back to when you were younger... yuh remember the board games... Sorry? Operation? That is what ah female and male had the opportunity to win!

There were some rhel big chunes played. When ah say big chunes, ah talkin' about songs like El Debarge's "Rhythm of the Night" to Cameo's "Candy" to Bobby Brown's "Every Little Step I Take" to Michael Jackson's "Rock With You" to BBD's "Poison" to Boyz II Men's "Motown Philly". People were dancing' up ah storm, doin' dances like Thriller, the Humpty Hump, the Boogle, the Butterfly and of course the Donkey Dance.... whoa donkey..... whoa donkey!!! I'm tellin' yuh, people were movin' from de left to the right.... rockin' de boat from side to side. Now before ah forget, mashin' up de lower level with some seriouuusss break dancing moves was none other than Bag Of Trix!!!

People were limin' upstairs, downstairs, by the DJ booth and outside. Yuh could hear the music from wherever yuh was standing, so yuh know ah bumsie was always movin'... lol. This boat ride really went back in times. I had ah rhel good time and ah think ah could speak for everyone else too. All ah could see was smiles on de people's faces and endless waistline wukin'!!!!! What topped of this ride was the candy ah J.E.T gave out ~ yuh remember the ones that came as ah necklace or bracelet and yuh remember nerds?! LoL. That is what ah was eatin' while ah was takin' my last wine!! Ah telling yuh de party was sooo nice and had soooo much vibes that when we docked after 12 o'clock. There were fellas beating the wall encouraging everyone to join in while they were singing, "No no we ain't goin' home.... we eh leavin'..." LoL!! So if yuh miss out on J.E.T's last boat cruise fuh Soca Summer, what can we say? Yuh miss out badddddddddd!!!!!

Ah cyah wait until White/Out/Side!!!! Yuh ready or wha?!?!
