Friday night in BIM, and you have a couple of options to chose from.... Pic-O-De-Crop Finals, Baje Jouvert or as some of the TJJ crew decided to do.... just lime until hitting Fore Day Morning J'Ouvert. The TJJ Red Team decided to head up to the Vaucluse Race Track in St. Thomas for Baje Jouvert. Before heading to the bush (cause we understand the venue in de middle of nowhere), we stopped off at Jumbies Restaurant & Bar (one of the hot spots) for ah drink in The Gap. We're sorry we didn't walk with the cameras, as the vibes and people was rhel nice. Downstairs was were de jammin' was, while upstairs you would take in the sounds of another DJ while enjoying the beautiful view overlooking the entire bay (and of course, the hotties in the party too!). Shout outs to DJ Ozzy (one of Jumbies' resident DJs) and Miss Banks 2006 for the luv. We're sure we'll be seeing you all around in another fete. Movements time.... Wow... you really have to know BIM to reach some of these parties. Vaucluse Race Track really somewhere in de BUSH... and there are no signs telling patrons how to get there either. Even if yuh had a Barbados Stars Map like they have in Hollywood, it was still "Good Luck Mr. Goreski!" We arrived close to 2am and judging from where we had to park, we knew the dance was RAM..... cars for days! Security quickly escorted us in, and all we cud say was, "Wheeeeey, look at people!!" The race track had so much people that the main stage, located quite at the back of the venue, looked like a lil' vendor's tent from the front of the party. For a minute it actually felt like we were at ah Trini Carnival fete. We heard some stories about this fete pre-hand.... lots of talk bout how de fete too social, and how it have too many stoosh people. So why we coined this fete the "Best of Both Worlds"? Simple. If yuh wanted to be social, yuh cud be social BUT if yuh wanted to get down and dirty, yuh could get dirty!! And we mean DIRTY.... paint, mud, foam, water.... all de jouvert essentials. It was great to see a blend of every creed and race jus having a good ole time.... and we talkin' bout some beautiful people too! People fetting in foam (photo), people jumping care free as the water hose sprayed them down (photo) or ah man running around with ah bucket on his head (photo)! Then you had the creative folks, who wrote things like "Kiss Me" on their back with the paint (photo).... we love it! Any celebrities in this dance? Last night we bounced up AJ (Extra TV, 106 & Park) at Glow, and tonight we bruck up on Emmanuel Lewis live and in living colour... yes de original Webster!! He was having such ah blast, that he say he ready for TnT Carnival 2008! Aye, Aye, Aye! We mus shout out good fren of the Jungle.... TnT's favourite super hero.... Hypa Hoppa on the inside as well. The DJs carried most of the night's entertainment, and all did a fantastic job blending the Bajan soca with the soca music of other islands throughout the night. No matter how many times you hear Destra & Machel's "Carnival", it always feel like the 1st! If this fete was a DJ only fete, it wouldn't have mattered one bit... DANCE WAS NICE. But guess what? Baje Int'l provided Big Red, Iwer and Nard to add to the cesspool of madness on the race track! I want "Tempo"... my "Tempo" ooooh! Please, please! 5am.... we late for Wudadah. And from the looks of things, about half of Baje Jouvert heading in de same direction. Baje, thanks for having us. We doh business wha anyone have to say, we'll be back next year!
