After leaving a section launch “El Imperio De Cortez” from the band Trini Revellers, it was time to head to Nemo for a fete called "3 Some". This party or ménage a trios was organized by 3 guys... 3rd Base (Hot 93.5 FM), Kurtis and Sandman.
So what do we know about this 3 Some thing? Is it just a pretty name the promoters use or does it have some relevance to the theme of the party? Time to find out! We were told that there would be 3 hot DJs passing through, 3 guest artistes performing and 3-4-1 drink specials til 3 AM on different drinks every hour. Also to top it off, at 3 AM the hottest 3 Some wins $300 in drinks. There was even a little 3 Some special on admission when purchasing tickets. 2 guys and 1 girl ... 3 Some price. 1 guy and 2 girls ... 3 Some price. 3 girls and 1 guy ... 3 Some price! 3 guys together ... Regular Price!! LOL. Looks like this whole 3 Some thing making sense now.
So TJJ up in de dance and chillin. The music was controlled by 3rd Base at the time. Ishmael "The Demolition Man" took over the reigns a little later and continued to keep the jam swinging. At about 2 AM a performance by 3 Suns stirred up the crowd as they performed some of their hits. There there was a performance by Keith Sweet who turned the vibes into a more mellow mood with his R&B selections. Afterwards, it was back to the regular party, so we decided to bounce de starter and make our way home. Big up to we boys Spencer and Kevin on the inside.
