Just as we're feeling the Carnival Tabanca setting in again, there is a remedy in the form of YoYo where we can get our monthly dose of 1Xtra's Soca. We reach so early this time that we open the party, but it was good to see Alex Jordan liking herself on the decks, playing tune after big tune. It's always great when you can tell that the deejay really enjoys what they're playing.

Well people started rolling in steadily, and Hassan was setting up. So we waited a bit and then had some polouri. Yes polouri with mango and tamarind chutney - is so we greedy! By this time, The Gladiators took over and continued the mix until the party was in full swing. A few people got up and were dancing on stage - surely pretending that it was Carnival Tuesday all over again.

We're always pleased to see that the energy emitted by Alex in her set and from her effervescent personality as she works the crowd, is passed on to everyone as they all seem to be enjoying themselves to the max. No matter whether they are West Indian, English or even Japanese - they all come here, take in the music and leave feeling fulfilled.

Well respected artist and DJ, Tom Middleton, was next up with Leo Greenslade and we expected a change of pace, but when they continued with a couple dubplates they raised the roof! It was time for us to go, but not before a few more pics. We spotted a whole squad from 1Xtra including the original rap rude boy Rodney P, and Fonti of the Heartless Crew. By all accounts it was another good night and we can't wait for next month. The treatment must continue.
